Need some help with 20" tire sizes

I'm going to buy some 20" wheels this week, and I need to know what tires fit under the ball joint in front. What are you guys squeezing in there?

Thanks
Russ

How do those 305/30's fit back there? Have any pix? That's my next size I wanna goto. I currently have 295/30/20 with no issues.

I run the same 245/35 up front, but it def SEEMS like enough room for the 255/35. Did they rub the fender or hit the ball joint screw?

I am at stock height...

It Fits perfect will try and get a pic in the morning, the 255/35 was rubbing on the upper ball joint, I am at stock height, , it was also ripping the tire , good thing I had insurance with Discount Tires so I swapped em out for the 245/35 , helps a little with bumps

Interested in the same setup as OP.

Want to run 245/35-20 up front, with 305/30-20 in the rear on Michelin PSS. Can this be accomplished without any rubbing issues? My primary concern is the fitment of what would be the rear tires.

If it's just at the ball joint nut, I think I can fix that. Learned a few tricks working on airplanes.

That looks like a sweet setup, 26.8 diameter in the front. Close but no kissing.

I'm running PSS 245/35, 295/30/20. I see no reason I can't bump to the 305, looks like I have plenty of room.

No worries, I understand that. $900

I'm not trying to make anything on them honestly, just need to sell since I've got to go back to stock. They cost $1600-1900 new depending on tires from almost any vendor. I originally ran 305 in the rear with them, no rubbing issues on a lowered C219.

I would recommend the following

255/30/20
295/25/20

We do a number of CLS vehicles on 20" wheels and this works everytime !

I have seen up to a 305 be used on the rear no issues

Thanks. now that that is settled, The wheels I want are offset 10mm in and I really don't want to run spacers.

The ones I want are 2010 CLS63 replicas. 5 spoke but each spoke has 3 legs. They suit the car and look good without saying "look at me!"

do not run 255 with out proper offset wheel, spacers will cause the steering to shimmy.

i went through hell with 255s and still looking for a 10mm spacer that wont shimmy on my cls

Thanks, it was your posts that gave me an aversion to spacers in the first place.
I'm about ready to give up and just buy tires. I'm running maypops with 33000 miles on them.

I have 255/35/20 on the front of both my CLS55 and my E55. Both are Toyo Proxes and I've driven almost a combined 30,000 miles on them with no rubbing except the plastic inner wheelwell liner in the front at full steering lock.

That's good mileage for a tire with 280 UTQG. You must be doing something right.

I got that, still 15k and counting. I only got 10k out of my first 4 sets, then I switched to DWS with a 540 rating and made some changes to the front end.

Hi guys,

I need help. So, I have Rohana wheels RC10. Front: 20x10 and Rear: 20x11.
What set up of wheel would you recommend?

I always have tire wear. I changed my tires 2 times in 3 or 4 months.
I also install K-Mac bush kit for my rear.

Flip your tires when they are half gone, and use way less toe than factory spec once you get some of the flex out of your rubber bushings. (K-mac or even updated new for the front thrust arms) I'm running 15 thousandths total toe in the front at the edge of the rim, and just a shade more in the back. These cars are set up for soft bushings at 186mph and 155mph. They scuff the tires right off at 60. The back is tricky because it toes out when you punch it and becomes a handful with too little toe. Lots of flex. I'm hoping K-mac will reduce it some.
