Unusual keyless go issue
Keyless go has been source of awe and wonder as well as frustration and garment tearing. Most recently I would physically insert the key into the ignition switch start the car and then drive away. As I'm driving I would then notice the transmission acting sluggishly not shifting properly. Today I backed the car up to catch a missed off ramp and when I put it in drive it would not move, nothing no revving nothing. I then shut off the car, restarted it and the car was perfect. Shifted properly in all gears moved like it was on fire. When I spoke to the dealer about this he tells me that the key is starting to fail and that the induction coil impedance was changing. He then asked about my cell phone being too close. Told me that as the induction coil starts to fail the car loses the "key recognized" authorization. When that happens the trans starts to shut down as the "theft deterrent system" responds to perceived "stealing of the car" and ultimately as with mine no go at all until restart and re-authorization of the key. He suggested I get another key because the only key I have is "failing". Anyone have any thoughts?

What other lies is he feeing you? I never heard of this but my keyless go stopped working out of no where in the winter time cause of the cold. Realized my AUX battery was dying slowly so I replaced it and no more issues with keyless go, but my handles are different story lol. They are piece of junk

Thank you DJRabbi I thought so! Have any thoughts as to how or why the trans would act sluggish and then not shift only to perform as intended on restart? Sometimes we build Frankensteins that are very secure and functional in theory but garbage in the real world and keyless go with the security interface is one. Oh and my "handles" are junk too, just like yours. Just replaced my aux and main batteries so that shouldn't be an issue. Thanks.

I changed trans fluid, filter, replaced the garbage plastic pan that was on the bottom with the metal OEM replacement (because heat caused it to warp and it was leaking slightly which caused the entire process to happen), gasket and used the exact synthetic replacement fluid (such a b---- to find but it was found) and no leaks when done. It does this erratically and as soon as it is shut down and restarted it performs flawlessly.

I have undertaken to always publish the solution to any problem I post since those who take the time to offer advise should know how the matter resolved. In my case the conductor plate was suspect so I ordered a new conductor plate and disassembled the transmission. After dropping the valve body and looking closely at the plate there was a hairline crack that crossed the area of contact with the solenoid. In theory once the plate got hot the crack separated the solenoid from the electrical contact causing momentary loss of current resulting in erratic operation. Once the plate was replaced and the code cleared (yes a high end SnapOn diagnostic unit did that) the transmission operates fine and I am now a little bit more knowledgable about my car. Thanks to all who gave advice and helped me track the problem.
