Key fobs came programmed

Hello all just a quick shout out if any of you are on the fence about getting new key fobs from the dealer (and yes they are expensive) but the spare I bought for class CLS55 AMG and the 2 keys for my R500 all came programmed so no need to program at the dealer and spend $160 per car to do so. Even the service advisor was surprised and the parts staff said I needed to get them programmed. I have to check the keyless go on the CLS but so far so good!

Hello Joel, my dealer in Milwaukee WI charged $341.44 for a chrome key fob with keyless go. Plus $42.53 for the master blade key insert. No programming needed. The ordered it by VIN and I could not deviate since I mentioned I did but need chrome since I knew it cost nearly twice as much as the plan Jane key fob for my R500.

My dealership told me it was over $400 for a spare keyless go for my '06 CLS. Did you end up getting one for your CLS?

Yeah I ended up getting a spare for the almost $400. Tough pill to swallow but Mercedes-Benz takes security seriously. I was glad they came programmed because I was originally told they did not by the dealer and there would have been another $115 programming fee and they needed my car to do it too.
