vdubpower 12-12-2004 02:44 AM

Evolution Marine 12-12-2004 10:39 AM

The Doctor - I was sent an invitation, however I am taking another couple, so it might be worth a try and go down there and see what the security situation is like. :y - Bob

They usually do act like pompous *****s. I was at the LA auto show and the guy for brabus would let me in to check out the cars, but wouldn't let my friend who has just as much buying power (if not more) in with me. They also would only give me their catalog and not him. Just because he wasn't dressed as nicely. Idiots.

Then I called them to enquire about their rims and suspensions, and they acted like it was inconveniencing them. So, I didn't buy anything from them. They walked away from probably 25 to 30 thousand dollars (the wheels and suspension were just a feeler).

I don't really care though. There are plenty of tuners who care about their work and their customer.

I heqard that the Monday viewing is basically for F Jones customers, but that the car will be there for a few weeks.

Thank you very much

Fury

I've had the exact opposite experience with Brabus NA. I've called them several times about wheel fitments and even told them upfront that I wasn't buying from them and the guy was extremely helpful and even offered to test fit a wheel on a car for me. When I did order stuff from them, the service was perfect.

btw, whoever's going to this event, please take and post pictures!!

Damn, couldnt make it but I wasnt invited anyway. Pictures PLEASE!!!

I got a call today from Mark Newton over at House of Imports. He added the 19" AMG rims to my CLS55 order after I read on the forums that you have to specify them. He also let me know that, as it turns out, one of the CLS55 deposits in front of mine fell through and I have been bumped up to the #4 spot! That made my day, I will have mine 3 weeks to a month sooner now, cant wait!

vdubpower 12-14-2004 01:36 AM

you sellling the e55?

the brabus car looked awesome, for 40000 of extra it should

the interior was ****, that wood looked like plastic, i was disapointed.

VelocitE55 12-14-2004 02:59 AM

Vdub, I ordered the CLS55 because I got hit by an idiot kid in my E55. The damage is looking like it will be $13-$15K worth. I was hit on the left rear of the car. I suffered a concussion, a neck sprain and a back sprain and I still am not even half back to normal. My lawyer is going after the diminished value of the car on top of the damages ad injuries. My plan is to have the E55 fixed at Phil Thearle's Autowerks in San Diego and keep it untill the CLS55 comes in at which time I will trade it in for the new car. The CLS55 is due in late March now.

I am sorry to hear that the interior/wood didnt please you. I would give anything to get Black Birdseye Maple or even Aluminum trim like what the E55 has around the shifter and gauges. I dont like either the Burl Walnut or the Laural but the car is too sick looking to pass up!

Other than the wood, what else about the interior did you dislike??

Evolution Marine 12-14-2004 12:51 PM

I saw the CLS500!!!

Went to the showing last night at "Brabus". I can honestly tell you guys that I was STUNNED at how good looking this car is. I kept walking around it, and around it, trying to find an angle that it looked awkward at and that awkward angle doesn't exist! It is low, sleek, and good-looking. This thing ROCKS!!! :woowoo:
The CLS was black on Black with 20" wheels, lowered at least 1.5". The front wheels were 9" wide and the rear wheels were 10.5" wide,. The first impression I got when I sat in the CLS was how sporty it felt inside. The over all impression is, as if you are sitting in a sports car not a four door sedan. The interior space is on the snug side but still comfortable (I'm 6'2" tall and weigh 215 lbs.) and has a very high quality feel to it. I must say I liked the satin finnish on the wood and the bural wood grain and color. :nix:

Things to do when the CLS55 arrives: :D
1. Limited Slip Diff.
2. 19" Maya STM wheels
3. Lower 1.5"
4. After Market Headers and exhaust
5. "EVO" stage IV tune

I'll try and post some pictures as soon as I can. :) - Bob

vdubpower 12-14-2004 08:15 PM

FIXEDupW209 12-14-2004 08:37 PM

The first stage includes a pulley with software.
Second stage includes shorty headers and plug wires.
The third stage includes a custom heat exchanger and a new water pump.

The fourth, I can't remember. :(

Trust me, Evosport knows what they are doing, and if you go their route, you won't be disappointed.

Pictures - Pictures - Pictures

ricky.agrawal - I beleive that the EVO Stage IV includes a top mount intercooler on top of the motor and out of the heat, below the blower, where the OEM intercooler resides.
Also, the 20" wheels did not leave enough tire side-wall to protect the rim (as yoy can see in the picture) and the first sharp pavement edge is going to bend the rim! :(

Now, for the Pictures: :) - Bob

Larger pictures now :hammer: - Bob

Car looks good but guess what its a freaking CLS350 with some wheels, brakes and a body kit....

You would think Brabus could get a German spec 6.1L CLS here for display...oh well... it still looks great!

Back seat is smaller than a C-Class and has less headroom than a CL. I love the car but the rear seat size has me wondering if the car is pointless. Should it have rear doors if the back seat cant have a 5'9 male fit in the back without his head hitting the roof? It really IS a coupe....a coupe with rear doors.... odd...

:)

yup

It looks great, too bad the CLS has to have such a small overall tire diameter. those tires are real thin i dont think they would be good for very long.
