I am the ultimate traitor

I'm contemplating on purchasing also a M3 because I've never owned a bimmer. I would definitely keep the AMG brand in the line-up because it would suck to miss out on a smooth riding vehicles.

I think I'm missing out on the experience of driving cars other than MB brand. As we know, each brand (Porsche, Audi, MB, BMW) have individual qualities that make them great. I need to get out of the shell of being too much into brand loyalty.

Your M3 looks great. You should get the 3 piece BBS wheels.

Yup I have been the go round Audi 2.7t, 2 996's, 5 BMW's., 5 MB's and I thought when I had my 996's I would never get put but this is the best compromise between the Porsche as a sports car and the MB as a more luxury oriented car you get the best of both worlds

I can totally relate to what you're talking about. I had an '04 C32 for 9 months, and traded it in for an '04 M3. While I like both cars, I too, missed having fun driving a car without a 6-speed.

The other issue I had, was that in the 9 months, my C32 was in the shop 11 times with major problems, and the M3 - which I have had for the past 10 months, has not been in the shop for anything other than it's 1200 warranty service.

It's definitely a head turner. And these are my favorite features:

LED tail lights
19" wheels
Imola Red
Bi-Xenon
LSD
Park Distance Control
6-speed
7900 redline!

It puts a smile on my face every time I fire it up. I still like and respect the MBs. And the C32 was fun while it was still fun, but realized I needed to really needed to experience driving and have fun doing it, and I got that with the balance and feel of the M3.

Congrats on your decision!

I agree on all points as well you only pay for tires, no maint costs. for 2005 MB cancelled that and on an AMG car service is going to be major $, were you hard on the M3 during the first 1200?

Yes - 4yr/50K full service.

I was a good boy for 1200 miles. Never went over 5500 rpm, never put it into sports mode, but after the break-in service, I started to rev into the upper ranges, WOW... Lots of fun!

I will be patiently waiting for the M4 E90 and CLK63 2007 to decide my replacement. I definitely want a 2-door to be my next car.
