6400rpm redline
Believe or not, my car's milege at almost 10k km ; As first time, I finally managed to floor it in S mode. My speed was ~110km and after floored, it took ~one second to reach red line and the gear automatically shifted to 4th , and speed at that time was ~176km/h. (I could stay on the pedal and shoot thru 200km/h but I did not, as the traffic started to show up )
I am no technical, but I am surprise that at 6400rpm 176km/h , the engine howling sound was loud but no any other unknown noise except the crystal clear sound of the AMG engine. Not any shaking or feeling of risks, and I could only feel that the tiger was ready to tear his food apart soon :v
I finally understand...why you guys want a AMG engine. Yes, it is a perfect engine. I am gonna try more flooring from now - don's give a damn about fuel cost any more. I could be real screwed askhole if I drive the C55 at 3000rpm all the time

We don't have many roads I can floor the car from 110km/h to 180km/h , which I believe the acceleration power in this range is the beauty of the C55 engine.
I was delighted to hear the sound at that rpm and the build of the car must be superb as I did not feel any unwanted shaking at all.
I will floor it every day from now :v

How can anyone own one of these cars and not floor it at every light? When I got my car back from getting the transmission replaced, the service advisor told me that I could feel free to "drive it like it was meant to be driven" so I left the service drive going sideways... with an elderly couple looking on in absolute horror.

I agreed. But we all know flooring the C55 in S mode means it shoots to 6700rpm at third gear and that torque and force definitely make the elderly heartattack! :p
