Best Amg Extended Warranty I Found..

After looking, researching and lots of phone calls, I ended up going with fellow benz owner for coverage on my 2003 E55. James (theautoclub.com 1-866-247-3728 ext 222) sold me a 3yr/100k mile $0 deductable platinum warranty with Mercury Insurance Group for only $3430.. 20% down and 10 payments.. It covers almost everything, and it is pro-rate refundable if i sell the car. They also offer several other levels, but i went with the most coverage i could get. Heck, most warranty companies will not even cover an AMG, and if they do its well over $4k. James is a very cool and informative, i highly recomend giving him a call...

You could have paid less for an MB warranty. I'm assuming you were already past 1 yr. of ownership?

be very careful!!!
have you heard of warranty gold? i have. in fact, i got totally screwed there, as did many others. they also had a "great deal" for me and my AMG.
well, my questions to you is, who is the CEO of this new company you are dealing with now??? what is he doing differently now from what he did to me and others while at warranty gold?
i think it was a ponzi scheme and it worked quite well for some people, but not for those who bought their warranty.

Did you check prior to ..purchasing this warranty if:

1. They will pay for Dealer labor rate as opposed to independent mechanics labor rate. As the different could be quite a lot for some big job.
2. They will pay the part at retail prices as opposed to wholesale (dealer part always sold at retail).
3. They will pay the cost of repair with their company CC directy to the dealer so that you don't pay anything.

Otherwise the price seems to be reasonable.
I for one had purchased a warranty from WarrantyDirect.com for 6/100,000 back on 2000 and believe its is all worht it. Not only I had my investment back, but they ended paying more..

Oh I forgot to tell you.

They no longer cover any BMW M model or AMG .. They performance line the cover at the moment is S line from Audi Gmbh...

I guess probably they learned that AMG can be very expensive to repair... :)

Thanks, I had a quote of ~$3700 from MB that seemed high, anyone else got a better lead?

I've also been kinda hanging around with the idea of getting an extended warranty. I'm at 48500 miles right now, which pretty much the end of my factory warranty.

I checked out theAutoClub, but they don't offer it for those in California. =(

I also came across Warranty Warehouse and AA Auto Warranty. Warranty Warehouse doesn't offer it in California as well. I'm waiting for a reply back from AA Auto Warranty, couldn't call them because it says this phone number cannot be reached from my calling area...maybe they don't offer it in California as well? Is there a reason why these companies don't offer it in CA?

Warranty Direct would've been great also, but they don't offer it for AMG models.

Another one is Auto Advantage, www.autowarranties.com. Their plan is not an exclusionary plan though, so I'm afraid they will not cover as much or try to hide things that aren't covered since they list what is covered.

And the one offered to me at the MB dealership was Millenium. They are an aftermarket extended warranty company as well, but the rates are high. Since they are aftermarket, I might as well look around at some other ones.

Well, this thread is 11 years old and our cars are 11 years older, so we're pretty much on our own at this point.
