Brabus Rims

Me Again....

I'm interested in getting a set of 17" or 18" Brabus Monoblock VI single piece aftermarket rims. Are Brabus rims strong? I live in Boston and lets just say they roads in some places are down right lethal!! :wall: I went through two sets of aftermarket rims in my last car and then I decided to get a set of factory forged rims. Other rim manufactures are welcomed... :y

Thanks

Hi

I have the 18`s on my c32 and the rims are weak, scratch easily and the lacquer is starting to peel. The center cap has peeling also, its going back to the dealers soon....

one piece Brabus rims are fairly strong, but their two-piece have a soft lip. I have heard many complains about them from people who run the two-piece wheels in 19inches.

Have you looked into HRE Performance wheels?

RBMBC32 09-19-2005 11:06 AM

Thanks for the responses guys!! :y I might take a chance with a set of 17" single piece Brabus wheels. In the meantime I will look into HRE rims as well.

Keep the responses coming!! :y

Thanks

Brabus wheels 1 piece are nice, but they are heavy and you might regret getting them when you have to change tires for winter/summer etc.

besides HRE, try DPE, i've heard they aren't bad, whereas i've heard some not-so-pleasant things about HRE's.

How much heavier do you think the Brabus 1 piece rims are compared to the stock AMG Rims?

Stock AMG rims from the dealership are expensive.... I had 19 in Brabus Reps and I had 1 instance that I had to replace the rim... and it wasn't city driving..it was highway pot holes...... I live in boston too... :-)

if I was you,

look for stock AMG rims from CLK, SLK, C....

Brabus is nice, but not worth the money unless you want to have flash instead of performance.

I paid $1025 for my wheels...from Ebay.

They look exactly the same as the C55 but my rear is 255 not 245.

I was looking at the SLK55 rims, but they wanted $2000.

few lbs perhaps. The AMG rims are not light by all mean.

very good deal. That's about all the used C55 wheels go for these days. You can run 245 or 255 in the rear they only different very little in overall diameter. The stock C55 comes with the 245s in the rear, but AMG a while back recommaned 255s on their site for people that want to upgrade to the 18s, now they changed it back to 245s. If you go by how tirerack calculate tire sizes, the correct size they give are 255 as well.

TopGun32 09-19-2005 07:27 PM

you are right, the 255/245 is not a noticeable.

My wheels were came off a new CLK55 cabrio, 05. Top shape with the Conti's tires and rims were clean.

I'll await to upgrade to PS2's next year after.

handling was improved a bit, but I still need to lower my car, since the front sits too high.

I have a set of staggered 18" Brabus Monoblock VI replicas in my garage. I drove with them for 2 years around New Jersey and New York. And the first year i left them on through the winter months. I just took them off recently to put the stocks back on and they still have no bends on them. Definitely very strong wheels. Infact, I managed to slightly bend my stock 16" wheel around the roads I drive and never damaged the 18" replicas around the same roads. I tried to sell them on here once but was unsuccessful
