Strange Cluster display problem "Help"
Very random problem with the cluster display on my 06 C55
When starting the car the display "please wait" for an extended period of time then the display on the cluster will go to dashes where the radio stations, NAV, Phone info is supposed to be. with no loss of function to the head unit or steering wheel controls. it does the same thing no matter what input the unit is on radio, nav, cd, cd changer or ipod. restarting the car has no effect, it has to sit for hours for it to return to normal.
The dealer has had the car 9 times for this problem, they replaced the nav & flashes all related computers, dissconnected and cleaned all connectors. the car has no codes even when they had it connected while it was having the problem
The dealer at first said NPF and that they had never seen a car with this problem. Now that they have seen the problem they have no clue how to fix it
Any thoughts would help

Taking a stab at this but...
Look at your DVD, it may be scatched or very dirty.
I don't have a C55 but my C32 COMAND would hang for a while (I thought it was freezing up) so I removed the CD an looked for scratches but it ended up having this extremely cloudy residue. I cleaned it and its worked fine ever since.
