Just purchased an '02 c32 AMG was wondering...

How I should go about clearing the PO's info from the car? Can I just disconnect the battery for a few minutes or...? Also if you have any other advice for a new owner I would appreciate any inputs.

Do you know of any mods that have been done to it already? Also, post some pics when you get a chance!

It's pretty much stock

It does have the flat front emblem and a rear spoiler, but other then that it's pretty much unmolested. Brilliant siver with black on black interior. I'll get pics when I take possession of the car on Tuesday. It was owned by the wife of a business exec, so it hasn't been flogged too much either and I think I got a pretty good deal on it (paid 22.5k). Looking forward to getting it in the driveway next to my '69 bmw I just restored for some pics

i would not disconnect the battery, you have to resync alot of stuff when you do that and there is a module or something in the rear i remember reading about that goes bad on some cars....i would go through the process of reprogramming everything manually for your preference, then do the ecu reset that is found here...

You can reset the options back to factory spec quite easily. Just consult the user manual if you can't figure it out.

yeah, I read that in the manual...

I was more interested in the car "unlearning" the PO's driving habits and starting from scratch, but it looks like I can just do the trick to reset the ECU and that should clear everything. Thanks.

2002 c32
There is a procedure where you monitor engine conditions and drive around at certain speeds until the engine reaches x-degrees, then you drive slow for a while, etc...that's my understanding. Eventually it will just learn how you drive and 'forget' the old driver(? anyone chime in there).
