Spare for C32?

Spare for C32?
My 02 C32 is one of the vehicles without the spare and just has the fix-a-flat bottle. If I were to run across an orphaned 17" AMG wheel to use as a spare, what would you recommend, a front or a rear? I am assuming, by my measurements, that a full sized tire and wheel should fit into the tub. Do I need to purchase some sort of mounting system for the tub also?

Mercedes parts:
203-898-02-07-7C45 ($20.00) Shell... to secure wheel
124-898-07-65 ($2.40) Screw... required to lock down shell
120-581-02-46 ($12.50) Lug Wrench... in case your car didn't come with one.
203-899-04-14-7C45 ($7.20) Bracket... holds jack and lug wrench within shell
AMG "split-spoke" 17x7.5 wheel with Michelin Pilot Sport 225/45ZR17 tire, mounted balanced and shipped for $525.. Mercedes dealers quoted $800 to $1000 for this.
Remove the foam tool kit from the trunk and pull out the large foam disc from underneath it. This will expose a small bracket welded into the center of the well. This bracket accepts the "screw" which will slide in and lock itself in place.
Now carefully put in the wheel face down. Make sure to pop out the center cap from the AMG wheel before doing this, as the screw will protrude through the center of the wheel. Next, place the basket in the wheel and screw it down until it won't turn any more.
Take the jack and place it in the new bracket, along with the lug wrench. The bracket is designed to fit these parts perfectly, which it does. The official mercedes gloves and other small parts will also fit within this bracket (for example, you'll also want the small metal pipe that aids placement of the wheel because the car uses lug bolts instead of lug nuts). The bracket then snaps into the shell, meanwhile leaving enough room within the shell for jumper cables and other goodies.

or you can just jack one from the loaners which comes with the 17" spare. don't do it if you have a moral problem with it. I don't bother with spares since I have the 355mm bbk that needs the C55 18" to clear and do not want to carry an extra 45-50lbs in the trunk.

yea im gonna need a spare too cause i have staggered wheels and my amg bbk is going on monday.

Man! I've never cared for the "LOL" thingy but, for the first time I can remember, I did LOL. That is funny. Unfortunately, I do have a moral problem with it. Plus, the dealer would track me down and confiscate my first born as repayment.

well, the rentals are own by Enterprise and 90% of the one who checks the car when you bring it back only checks for visual damage as in paint damaged etc, but not inside the car. All the loaner I remembered came with the CD changer and none of them actually have the CD mag inside and some of the cars doesn't even have floormats. The only explaination would be someone already took them. They can hardly keep track because the moment you return the loaner the next person is already in line to take the key for you thanks to the great MB electronic problems. haha

It’s consuming storage space the Mrs. suddenly ‘needs.’ No tire, but a decent take-off from the local tire outfit could probably be had for next to nothing. Packaged and ready to ship.

Thanks for thinking of me with this one. I did get the parts/tire from the dealer a while back, so my tub is full of time now. I do need a few wheels though (damage). If yours is a stock C32 (front or rear) I will take you up on your offer.
By the way, my chirp/jerk is getting worse. Do you have a $0 OBO offer for that one yet?

I did the spare tire mod, but also found a full set of OEM wheels on Ebay.
