All,

Just getting the car detailed and was planning to remove the rear M-B emblem when we realized it was not double sided taped on. So needless to say we forced the emblem off and now have a few holes showing. I really don't want the star in the back. Does anyone have ideas on what could replace it?

I have already ordered an AMG flat hood emblem and matching wheel centers. I guess I could match something in the back as well. Thoughts?? Pics?

Your problem is going to be finding something big enough to hide all three holes that does not look tacky! Maybe a carbon fiber BMW roundell.

or put it back. I don't think they make a rear AMG emblem to fit

Found this on ebay.. seems like it would fit, tapes on.. not sure if this is the type of flat emblem you got for your hood..

I would probably either put the original back on, or fill the holes and paint..

I would like to fill and paint, but don't want to do any paint work to the car. So, I just went by the dealer and bought a new one to put on. Does anyone know if you can access the holes from the inside of the trunk? 2 of the prongs broke off and I need to pop them out.

AMGMark, just bought a new flat hood emblem just like the ebay link you sent. I hope it looks good! Should have it in a few days. Went ahead and ordered AMG wheelcaps to match. The idea was to get rid of all M-B peace sign style emblems on the outside of the car. Guess that plan ain't gonna happen!

No, really, don't some AMG owners remove the AMG badging to create a greater Q factor? I almost bought an 03 with all the AMG and Kompressor badges removed. Personally, I like the "peace sign" and the AMG stuff. Why go to all the hassle of fill and paint just to have a car that looks like what most Honda and Acrua owners are doing. Why would you be ashamed of the 3 pointed star?

Just went to put the new one on and sure enough the dealer sold me the emblem for an E-class. Apparently the holes and prongs are slighly larger!

yes you can get to the prongs from the inside . Remove the cover/liner and you will see the three prongs push them and they will come out to the outside of trunk lid . Easy to do if the star were still in place
