I saw the same car on the 91 near the Orangethorpe exit a few months ago. I was waiting for the guy to pull up to see if it was a MBworld member. Dude would not come close even though I was going like 55mph. My friend and I saw the rear when we were exiting and needless to say we had a good laugh as to why he kept his distance.

Geez! That has got to be the worst attempt to fake a C55. Let's see, single tail pipe, AMG and C55 insignias switched, questionable wheel upgrade, etc.

What do people get out of this anyhow? someone who knows AMG knows how it looks like and certain characteristics so they know that its fake. and the ones who dont recognize it probably dont even know what AMG stands for.

All he hd to was not place any badging on the back and he would have a nice clean 203, if your a member on this forum please de badge your car and all shall be fine.

That is a BIG idiot! Doesn't even put the badging in the right places. From the picture he is in Anaheim near Angels Stadium.

This guy is my hero!
This ones almost as good as a E320 with no sport package and some F up'd tail pipes I saw in Beverly Hills that had a E65 badge on it and had the V8 Komperssor badges on the fenders as well as a AMG badge placed below them. I wanted to put a note on the guys wind shield saying congratulations on owning the rarest E-class in the world.

2003 C-Class Sportcoupe
I saw a similar car a month ago on the 91 EB. Except it was black, and it had the C55 badges in the correct location. It was definitely a SS because it had single oval chrome exhaust tip, funnel rims, and sports badges on the sides.

lord, why....i hate to see this, it makes me want to drop knowledge on these types of people, okay first learn the difference between base/sport/AMG. i am new to mercedes as well and these things are a must and u learn to appreciate the higher model far more than trying to imitate it.

spot these type of cars on regular bases. SL500 badged as SL55 without even the sport package, E350 badged as E530, E320 as E32, E500 with AMG badge without AMG sport pkg, etc. Not my business, but if they want to make me laugh that's fine by me. 
couple special cases being that at local car meet around school this kid brought out his C230k badged as C32 AMG which he replied "yes it's a C32" when I asked, and when he asked what I drove I simply pointed to my car. He goes up to my car walked around it and quickly got into his car and left. Another time was with a 230k with only the AMG badge trying to race me and I easily walked it even with the intercooler pump failing, and couple days later saw the same car, but took off the badge.

Best I've seen lately was a BMW 525i w/ M5 badging parked in a driveway. The owner was in his garage cleaning or something so I stopped in front and laughed at him for a second.
