Going to the track tomorrow...

So I bought my car from an Infiniti Dealership 3 1/2 months ago up in Dallas. Well they sent me a customer appreciation email 4 weeks ago inviting me to a free outing at the local track.

I've never driven a car on a track, ever. They're doing some classroom training in the morning then a ride along with an instructor. After that there's a lead and follow session with free runs ending the day.

It's by no means a day of racing, more along the lines of a "driving academy" for their recent customers. So what advice do you guys have to offer me while I'm out there. I don't plan on thrashing the car around and it's still factory stock in the performance department.

The C32 loves to understeer (push) and particularly with the ESP engaged, will rarely oversteer. If you're just planning on having fun, then leave the ESP on and just drive her around the track, follow an instructor to look for the racing line, particularly the apex and have FUN!! The lead and follow will allow you to learn some "tricks" of that track.

As far as the car goes, I'd pump up the tires a bit more than 30-33 lbs, perhaps run 35. Fill her to about 1/2 with premium and take the spare out of the back and any other stuff you have in the trunk. They don't tend to do tech inspections BUT get the "crap" out of the front. Open the hood between runs to alleviate heat soak.

I asked some questions when I was looking at tracking for the first time. Hopefully this will be useful for you.
