What is included in a Service A?
I have no intention of going to a dealer, but may do any step that is meaningful (i.e. I'll skip the "inspect belts & hoses" step).
This is from a non MB web site:
Flexible Service System - A-Service (1998 through 2004 Models)
> Change engine oil and filter.
> Replace dust filter in all SLK, CLK, C-Class and E-Class models.
> Ensure the warning and indicator lamps, horn, windshield/headlamp wiper and washer systems, and seat belts are functioning correctly. (Tough job!)
> Inspect tires and check tire pressure (including spare).
> Inspect brake pad thickness and disc condition.
> Check and correct all fluid levels.
> Reset vehicle's FSS counter. (This is the $300 step!)
