Yesterday was TOO good to pass up, so me and dkflipse made
a trip to Moroso Motorsports Park 1/4 drag strip. Since I only
have MY data logger I chose to go back n forth to log both
of our cars, can you get a hint Donn?

We had six runs. First time for me. Here is my best run. 13.2 Not bad. Not great. What I consistently saw was that my trap speed was very good and my 60ft was very bad. I was not able to get a good launch. Too much adrenalin=too much wheel spin from a dig. It's tough to get used to the fact that less throttle will lead to a faster time! I beat just about every driver in the 1/4 but almost all of them beat me to 60ft.
By the way it was frigggggin' freeeeeezin'. At least for us Florida boys.

interesting...i would like to see the datalogs as well
you should have a higher trap speed than that even with the limited traction, what was the DA for the track?
MPH shows the kind of power that you are making to the rear wheels...

What's DA? Daily average? Not sure? But there were plenty of corvettes and others in the 10-11 sec range. There was also a torbo'd 350Z that ran around a 15 . Note that Moroso is known for being a "slow" track.

it takes in all of the factors like temperature, elevation, etc. and allows you to figure out what the true conditions were at the track while running...
do a search and you can find several DA calculators online that will help you calculate your DA for when you were at the track...

Got it.
Altitude feet
Air Temperature degrees F
Altimeter Setting inches Hg
Dew Point degrees F
But I have no idea what altimeter setting and dew point were. I do know we are basically at sea level and it was about 42 degrees.
I'm sure the car is strong. It's the driver that's the problem!

Again my 60ft time sucked. I just went on the best track time thread. This fong flex guy has an awesome 12.3. His 60ft was 1.86 vs my sorry 2.21
If I had that kind of launch I'm sure I could be in that range as well.
Gives me something to work on for the next time.

the problem is (and please take this as a voice of experience, not raining on your parade) that your trap speed is affected very little by your ET...even with a bad launch if the car is making the kind of power that your dyno shows, then you would be trapping at least 110+ easily even with a bad launch...
this is why i put very little stock in dynos other than to show what kind of power gained by adding modifications, the overall power output on the dyno is irrelavant if the car can't put the power down in real world conditions...it all comes down to what the car can do at the track...

I and jacek ran a 13.2 running stock. Elevation helps also in my case. You need to take a trip out to Indiana's US41 and see how you do out here.

I have a time slip from a run Victor and I did at the track a few months ago.
Victor:
Reaction - .7639
60' - 2.14
330' - 5.7441
1/8 ET - 8.7
1/8 MPH - 82.86
1000' - 11.2503
1/4 ET - 13.372
1/4 MPH - 106.89
Me:
Reaction - .6778
60' - 1.8362
330' - 5.2791
1/8 ET - 8.0913
1/8 MPH - 86.98
1000' - 10.4742
1/4 ET - 12.4920
1/4 MPH - 111.66
I would put your stock tires back on the car and try again. Are you gettng wheel spin out of the hole? From the bottom of first to the top of second, I'm spinning the wheels and managed to pull a 1.83 60' and a 12.49 @ 111.
I would be willing to bet that your car could easily pull the same time as me....
According to the dyno, you car has more power.
Also, if you notice our 1/8 MPH vs. yours. It seems as if your car is losing it after the 1/8. I bet it's the rims.

I will admit I am a little dissapointed with the results but Jerry's point could be accurate so try 17 inch rims on rears and also a set of good Drag Radials to see if it differs I presume leaving the front wheels is ok but forum correct me if I am wrong....I feel like Jerry you should be able to do better with your dyno numbers...are you emptying car out? or leaving all kinds of heavy stuff in them and what kind of tires are you guys using? Please like Erick said earlier (don't take it in a wrong way).....but something just doesn't add up right and could be causing you some nice time. Also when you ran your stock time where you running on OEM rims and tires?

point that I'm going to sell the C32 and buy a W211 E55 and call it a day.
Don't get me wrong, in the dyno it does fine, on the streets it does fine, on
the highway it pulls like a monster. I just can't get it to run fast on the 1/4.
I've had my fair share of runs at the strip, so I think I know what I'm doing too.
