hey fellas

i just noticed this morning that the parking brake do not make the usual cracking sound when depressed. it still functioned as normal

anyone had this problem before? is it ok to ignore it?

Yeah I have the same problem. Last time the dealer "adjusted" it and it worked for like 3 months, then started doing this again. It still works though, but you don't really have the feedback of how far you have pushed it.

it's just a plastic ratchet thing that will have snapped off.
it won't effect your parking brake so there's no need to panic.

doesn't cost much to replace either

that's related to the plastic bit snapped off ... i found mind on the floor ... wasn't too concern with that but it sound nicer to have the clicky noise than without ...

LOL, glad to know this crunching sound is normal...I always worried I was breaking something.
