Repairs & Miles
I traded my old C36 for the current 2003 Magma Red C32 about a year ago. It had 46k on the odo at purchase and today has 61,5xx on the clock. To date I have done the following:
SVC A with plugs and wires added at the dealer.
Extra oil chg in between SCV A and B just cause, I don't run cars for 10k without an oil change.
Replaced the SC pulley bearing and pulley with a C3P part, last winter, to cure a noisey bearing at about 52k.
Replaced two of the other idler pulleys just to keep me happy and silence the noise from them. I have the other one in the trunk and will replace it if/when it starts to squawk.
Replaced front rotors and pads
Replaced worn out Pirellis with Bridgstone Re050 PP's (best change I ever made!!!
Replaced air filters with OEM units
Added C3P intake
All of that was either planned maint or planned mods
Failures were the smog pump relay which led to frying the secondary air injection pump. I could have saved the pump had I known about the relay. That was the only pricey repair that I have made. This happened last spring at about 57k or so. So far my IC pump has done OK but I know not if the PO had it replaced. The car screams and I love the engine and the color and the w203 styling is an improvement over the older w202.
My experience with both AMG's is that with a little care, they are no more costly to own and drive than a Honda Accord, but are a he!! of a lot more fun

2002 C32, 2011 VW GTI
'02 model, 58k. Mine's been pretty much the poster boy for all the common C32 problems, lol. Thrust arm and sway bar bushings (front and rear), seat heaters, IC pump, stepper motors (2x), radiator replacement (the original Valeo started leaking transmission fluid at the coolant line), power steering rack, front rotors and pads, and a few other smaller items. Most of this happened before the CPO warranty expired, thank God. Unfortunately I got hit on the radiator and one of the stepper motors.

If my independent shop to dealer pricing experience is correct, it would probably be around 250-300 at a good independent shop.

My 02 C32 has around 28k miles on it. Bought it in January two weeks prior to 4th owner (!) had it serviced. Only think wonky is the sunroof only opens if i keep pressing the switch.

02 C32 "98K" Purchased from a private owner in Aug 03 with 10K miles for less than 41K, best car deal to date. Looking for the same thing with an 09 63??
