Tire recommendations
I know this has been discussed all the time but what do you guys recommend for 18" tires high performance summer tires? I know its winter, and that's why I've been rolling around in my hoopty jeep
I currently have 19x9.5 staggered (8.5 in the front) fitment but am buying some 18" wheels in the same staggered fitment in a few days. What do you guys recommend for around ~250/dollars a pop.
I haven't autocrossed in years so I'm more oriented towards "spirited street" use and drag strip applications.
TIA!
My BF Goodriches are toast

As I’ve posted before, I’ve been extremely happy with my T1Rs. I definitely would categorize my driving as spirited and usually go on 1 or more canyon drives a month. I have ~12,500mi on them and the rears are basicially in the same condition as your BFGs while the fronts will likely last another 10k.
That being said; I’m having a hard time not giving the new Hankook Ventus V12 EVOs a try. Ratings, reviews, decently aggressive look, and incredible [relative] price make them very tempting

I've been reading up on the Hankook V12 EVOs...I think I'll give them a try; they got a pretty high score on C&D's tire test. The only thing is that I don't see them on sale with 265/30/18 for the rears...which is what im running currently except in 19". Hmmm

I really enjoyed BFG tires and now I recently switched to Hankook S1evo..
S1evo warms up quicker and it's a lil more softer than KDWs (more grips imo).. Sidewall is a lil weak but overall, $ for $, great tires.. and it's a lot quit on the road as well.. I went with 235/40/18 and 255/ 35 / 18 set up

I've been running these tires on my 18's for about a year now. For the price, they have been great. I really like how much quieter they are than other tires I have run. I can't vouch for their all-weather capability though. It has rained 3-4 times in the last year here in Southern California.

255/35/18 & 235/40/18 is the way to go!
Agreed, anyone who lives in SoCal should never take weather performance into consideration, haha.

I live in western washington and its been drizzling about everyday the last few weeks since its the fall but when it rains hard I just drive the jeep.
I barely get traction with the 265's in the rear...so it would be hard to downgrade to 255's...
Are you lowered at all?

Really, the difference between 255/35 and 265/30 is not going to be that great, and frankly, you should be going slightly narrower for winter tires anyway.

My 255's Evo's are fine in the rain. I don't drive too hard when things are wet here because of all the oil on the pavement due to infrequent precipitation. No, I am not lowered at all.

As for the negative camber...my car has stock suspension; but I guess thats how much negative camber they dialed in stock? Anyone else notice that?

I bet the socal guys haven't ever seen their c55 like this then
Guys, appreciate the input. I think I'll try out the hankook evo12's since they're such a good bang for the buck and got really good ratings all around on comparisons.
Just ordered monoblock reps in 18"s and hopefully I'll have em mounted by this weekend or early next week!

Michelin’s Pilot Sport A/S Plus have thus far worked well during our brutal winters.

Brace yourself. I just saw the weather forecast for the next 7 days. We have a cold front coming though on Friday, dropping temps into the high 60's. Brrrrrrr.....
