Well we had another good meet yesterday. It was a small group but fun nonetheless.
Biscuit that place was pretty cool and seemed to be a great location as well. Also like we discussed yesterday, next month I am gonna reach out and post this on all the AMG forums to try and drum up some more interest.

After we left my wife commented on how much she liked the blacked out mirror signals. May have to do that.

Didn't you say you saw some old posts from Chappy about AMG meets? Guess we could PM him and get his opinion.

I organized the first AMG Meet in ATL back in '03. Photo Shoot, Mountain Drive and Tech Session at the local Kleemann performance shop:
Since then, we've done track rentals, days at the drag strip, mountain drives, dyno days and multi-state AMG meets. A few times, we even had some folks fly down from MB headquarters and give presentations - pass out baseball caps, etc. There will probably be another major AMG Meet later in the year, just need to nail down some things and select a date.
The most recent one I put together was an AMG drive back in January - but only posted it over on the AMG Lounge in the Southeast section.
What do you guys want to do?

Honestly, it depends on what your goals for the meet/event are.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, greatfnr, but I don't think we're looking for anything that expansive. (Although that does sound like fun.) What we've done the past two times is meet up, admire each others cars, have some food and drinks. The first time we drove to a location for some pictures, the second time we didn't.
Works out well because it doesn't require people to set their whole day aside. Kind of like Cars & Coffee...but for AMG's.
We could call it AMG's & Beer. I like that.

mmmmmm.....beer!
I know there are a bunch (6 to 8) of AMGs that are planning to participate in the Chin Motorsports track day at Road Atlanta on May 17th. Registration opens at 10:00pm tomorrow night.

^^Another suggestion if you're looking to boost participation:
Post your notice on multiple forums, and in various sections of those forums. For example, some people only have the E55/W210 section bookmarked here. They would never see anything in the W203/AMG forums listed.
I just traded emails with a gent who has multiple classic AMGs (just snagged a Hammer Wagon/W124).

Would love to see the Hammer's. Never actually seen one in person but I did however have one in a supercar calendar a long time ago if that counts.
Greatfnr, I'd say go ahead and post across some forums for the AMG & Beer meet.

Hmm, maybe mass crossposting is not allowed? We might have to move this to the events or southeast forum, but not many ppl check those.....

Well, today I had a good friend of mine tell me about this coming meet on the third saturday of next month.
He got it from an email from Blue Ridge MB
He got it from Benzworld
Which was posted from this thread
Which originated from last month's meet
Which originated from our original idea of a small gtg and photoshoot.
Funny how word gets around quickly

Well, maybe this will work as a slow ramp up for a full on monthly meeting.
