His mama. Traded y0 mama in because she was squeaking.
I believe my record stands where I didn't say all Wal Mart grease monkeys are idiots.
0W or 5W? It don't matter. What matters is 40 viscousity. It's never below 30 degrees F in the valley anyway unless your location experiences way below freezing temperatures tyically in the morning or even all day.
He's in Michigan. A little colder there in the winter. That's where the 5 and 0 come into play.
Something tells me papasmurf's local Walmart doesn't see exotics on a daily basis like your local Walmart does.
Respectfully, that point is debatable, based on the competency of the local Walmart grease monkeys.

I live in the Bay Area Silicon Valley (Google, HP, Intel, Ebay, Yahoo, etc.) where Porsches, Maseratis, Ferraris, Lambos, Bentleys and AMGs are a common sight 'round here in the 'valley'. Even the local Walmart acknowledges that and provide a certain level of service for nondiscriminating folks 'round here. They can also give a better price.
Side note: This Walmart has been around this 'valley' over 20 years.

So no, you're not skimping on your car, you're just being a smart buyer.

I can't find Jet Oil anywhere that doesn't come in some 20 pack box for hundreds of dollars.
Anyone know of any place that just sells single cans? Or would anyone just have an extra sitting around I could buy?
Thanks

I specifically asked (WalMart Service) if at $55.00 what type oil they would use and was told Mobil 1 0W-40 Full Synthetic European formula (which I know they have). I said my car uses 8 quarts and he corrected me, stating for my car, it uses 8.5 quarts and that he would have to charge the half quart. This service
mechanic told me this as I pointed where my car is and knew exactly what the C32 needed. This 'kid' could not have been more than 23 years old.
I asked if I could provide my own oil filter (Fleece) and he said they would credit that, too. I asked if I brought my own oil, too and said they would charge
$20.00 to the oil change. Very typical all over this valley.

I hate to resurrect an old thread, but this seems like the appropriate place to ask. Has anyone found a correct spec transmission fluid for the C32/C55? The dealers here want $17.50/qt for OE fluid. That is ridiculous. Has anyone found a suitable, rather correct, alternative or a cheaper place to buy OE fluid?

I'm about to do an ATF fluid change, and the best price I found with free shipping was RMeuropean. Fuchs 4134, $40 per 4 liter jug, or $12 per 1 liter.

All of the transmissions used the same ATF, they did develop a new ATF that could be used with the 7 speed tranny and the 5 speed. Maybe that's what he was talking about. I purchase about 12 liters on ebay for a little less than $90 shipped.

I have been talking with MBdeals@yahoo.com
He is offering a pretty good deal. He is selling the 001 989 68 03 10 for cheap! Hit him up
Anyone know the difference between the 001 989 68 03 10 and 001 989 68 03 13?

Wally World No!
I wouldn't advise having your oil change done at Walmart. I had a Ford Taurus and several times took to Walmart for routine oil change and tire rotation, even purchased tires there. Short story - they put in wrong oil and viscosity; installed the wrong tires! I had them drain and redo oil change, didn't notice tire change until had flat and came back to get repaired. The damage was such they were going to replace the tire, then the service tech noticed the tires on my receipt were not the same as on the vehicle. Talked to manager and they replaced all 4 for free with any tire I wanted. Bottom line, I wouldn't trust them with my MB C300 or any other vehicle.

MB continues to strengthen its ATF tribology requirements.
Note MBUSA often lags behind RoW in not only recommended change intervals, but also stipulated fluids.
236.14 specification ATF is currently required in our 722.6
Older consumer information:

current approvals
I’ve had good luck with Rocky Mountain European on several hardware and consumables purchases. Highly recommended.
