Another Headlight Question!

I had an issue with the chrome ring on my headlights around the projector, took it apart last week cuz the ring had broken off and spent about 6-7 hours doing so, including re-assembling it.
I had to take the lense off and clip the ring back in and then it broke off again yesterday, along with blowing out my right rear tire (I just can't get a break with this car)
So I think my only choice now is to just buy some new headlights.
I was looking at these:
http://depoautolights.com/benz-w203-...39e8b0ffbef63f

or these:
http://depoautolights.com/benz-w203-...39e8b0ffbef63f

The previous owner has hids on the current headlights:

I was just curious, if I buy those headlights (id like to not get the same ones I have because i've read that its common for that ring to unhook), what will I need to have them running HIDs, so I dont have to remove the ballasts and all that good stuff?

I know the first link I posted is a different set, not sure about the second, as the light being on doesnt help show it.

Anyways, any advice.. im hoping once I get this taken care of and get my brakes finished the bad luck will go away.

Thanks

You couldn't just jb weld the ring to projector. Once it's jbwelded it'll never come off

The only thing is, is the other side is going to do the same thing soon, I can see the ring parting from the housing.
I mean, I guess I could.

But its gonna be a 2 day project taking those lenses off. It was one of the biggest PITA i've ever done car-wise. Between heating the sealant and prying (repeat), to then having to put them back in. Putting them back in was actually a lot harder than i'd expected with this:

It was a pain to get the headlight aligned and get that screwed into it.

But I suppose doing that will be a lot cheaper and then maybe I can finally buy some fun stuff for the car.

I didnt even think about taking it back apart..

I got both of my headlights off, cracked open, painted and put back in about 6 hours with a help of a buddy. Mainly because we were figuring out what to do with the passenger side headlight that had the chrome paint peel off.

Just put it up on a ramp and take both wheels off so you can easily access the fender liner bolts and what not.

you dont need to take off the wheels man. Just turn the wheels all the way and pull the fender liner. Its plastic, it'll bend far and bend back. once you get use to it. you should be able to off the front bumper pretty quickly. Mugenx and I can take off our front bumpers in 4min.

you guys are ballers then, lol.
My car is a pita to jack up cuz she is so low, but I gotta change my brake pads this week or next week, so ill just knock it all out in one day.
The biggest piece of **** is having to open the headlight up. I strongly disliked having to do that, I think after having to put the headlight back in the first time it shouldnt be as bad the next.

I did have a CEL tho that was secondary air injection right bank, does anyone have any ideas on what would cause it?
Aside from having to buy new rear tires this weekend after a blow out, im getting closer to having the car up to par!
Cant wait to start buying **** I actually want. lol

I c. We just left the front bumper on and wiggled the headlight out of there once we took that metal clip off the side. I'm going to have to do it again with my right headlight once the new one comes in...at least I wont have to repaint it again.
