Creaking after replacing struts...

Alright, so I bought a set of used Renntech struts/shocks and springs. A few days after I installed them I noticed a loud creaking while turning. It is definately in the front and coming from both sides. I was told the setup had approx. 30k miles on it (my car has 36k). Now the strange part is it won't do it in the morning the entire way to work. It usually does it when I get home and pull into the garage, but it isn't that loud. Today I drove 30 minutes and the car sat for about an hour and a half and when I got in to go home it was LOUD. The guy I bought the parts from said it was probably my sway bar bushings, but I don't think it is because it will make the noise sitting still or moving and the noise absolutly was not there before I installed the struts. The guy I bought them from had new MB strut mounts and insulators installed when the springs so I didn't swap any of the parts from my struts. Does anyone have any ideas on what the cause could be? I know everything is tight and all, but I haven't had time at work to lift it up and see if maybe it'll make the noise while on a lift so I can try and isolate where it is coming from. Also, I can hear the noise in the car but not if I'm outside.

i would double check and see if the springs are seated properly. I would also doubt check and see if the top mounts are aligned with the chassis. The chassis is grooved so the top mounts would fit a specific way.

I'm pretty sure I checked and everything looked the same as the stickers I took out. I also made sure the upper mounts were aligned the right way.

Actually I did not, I tightened them with the car lifted. I was actually going to check that anyway when I get a chance.

I will definately try that, but the damn weather is supposed to rain most of this week so it probably will be at least a week before I can look at it.

I have the EXACT same issue. I have KW coilovers, I was too high in the front so I dropped the front to match. Ever since that day, I get this clicking/creaking noise fron the front wheel/suspension area when I turn the steering wheel past a certain point. I have no idea what it is. For a second I thought I was too low andthe tires was pressing on the fender liner, but that doesn't appear to be it.

I'm very curious to see what you find out. If I figure it out first, I'll let you know.

The rain has finally gone, I drove the car Friday and today and so far I haven't heard the creaking again. I will update if it starts again and what it is.

the front springs if loose will rotate when you turn the steering wheel and cause creaking/knocking noise.

setserock, your issue should be your seat lock that are not properly tighten and causing it to rotate.

91RS, I would check if the top hat on the strut is tighten.

is that where the little Allen wrench goes into?

It did goes away for me to. After about a week and a half after messing with the suspension. I put it on a lift last week to change the oil and ever since I lowered it back down and drve it away, it's been making noises again.

it's the adjustable perch top and bottom not fully locked.

Mine has this same noise, sometimes, and only after a long drive and while turning into my driveway. My suspension is all stock though.
