how much for factory 18" wheels

So the PO of my car told me he found the original wheels in his garage and would sell them too me if I like. I wanted the stock wheels originally but the millenniums have grown on me. If I were to buy them what would a fair price be?

3 are original in very good condition, one is new never mounted, he cracked the original and purchased a new one from MB he said it was $900.

Thanks,

He is also still looking for the original Extended Warranty contract for me, because it is really the only way to transfer the MB warranty now a days.

Check out the classifieds and do some shopping around to compare prices. Then make a resonable offer. If he can't match, I would look else where.

A new rim for a c55 is about 1000-1200 new, make a decision based on that, he is telling the truth.

used set runs about 1000-1200 a set, but of course some ppl sell them higher using other sources like the craglist, but on the forum 1000-1200 is about right.

some ppl believe they are worth more just because the dealership charges **** load, but they are really not worth the money when for the same money you can buy a set of forged BBS or Works or HREs while the AMGs are cast and heavy.

I actually went this past weekend to the dealership for a quote to see what they cost to buy an extra set of rear rims to put slicks on for the drag strip.

Each rear rim is $954 from dealership (factory finish) - part number 6-6-031342
If you want the rim chrome its about $250 extra each wheel to have it plated.

The front rim is probably around that same price maybe a bit cheaper...

If you can I would say try to find a set on craigslist or ebay that are in good condition... you can get a set for around $600 - $1200 in good condition.

Since I don't need them I was thinking of just low balling and offering $400.

Figure he doesn't need them either, they are just sittin in his garage. If he says no, oh well. still not even sure if I would swap them back or not. and If i did then I would have to try to sell the milleniums.

haven't paid attention to the offset of my wife's 17" SLK32 wheels are they the same as the C32? If so I should be able to throw the 18's on in place of her wheels right?

yes. they are the same wheel as the C32's. you can use the C55's 18" on the SLK with no issue. you can also run the R171 SLK55 wheels with no issue.
