I plan on having them installed in in January. Labor is a killer on this package. Installation takes 1 to 1.5 days.

SteveL has them on his SLK 32, and from what I heard, it made quite the difference up top where the car runs most of the time.

I had cams done on my BMW in a previous life and I would be very hesitant to do it again.
The car sounded rough and they never got the ECU to adapt to the cams very well causing the engine to stall sometimes.
It did gain like 30 HP but I was never very happy with the stability of the engine. They tried fixing it several times but I sold the car a bit later cause they could not get it right.

Idle doesn't change much, nor does low speed operation according to SteveL. The Renntech cams are very mild cams.

did you have schrick cams?? with the profile settin too high? i know that OBD II won't adapt too well... and... if you had a M3, JC chip had a software for your car. but if you had a regular 3 series...you probably had a problem.

Not the old M3, I had the 318IS coupe with 140 HP stock. I bought the car new after just having been hired for the first time in my life. My dad was furious about it I remember.
After I sold it I got the 325tds with 140 HP and it was a 6 cyl. Of course I had it chiped to 170 HP and the car smoked like a rocket during WOT. But I loved the diesel ... until the new 3 series came along and I got the 328. I was gonna get the new M3 after the 328 but I did not like the harsh ride and the high revs.
So I ended up with the car I love most out of all my cars so far !
