Is this sound normal?

After getting new belts to the supercharger so that one finally is quiet, I noticed a new sound in my engine. A ticking sound on the top left of the engine bay. Any idea if this is perfectly normal or not? My old car had the same sound, and someone told me it was lifter tick, but this one is so much louder.

Youtube video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCITygyj63A

Thanks.

I know it might be a noob question, but a quick yes or no from some mechanically gifted individual would be awesome :)

I never owned a C32 or a car with 32 engines so I'm not 100% sure but that doesn't sound normal to me.. Maybe you have an exhaust leak? Something may wrong with ur SC?

I'm sure other members will chime in later..

Cheers

Is it only on start up or on constantly?

I have a few sounds on start up sometimes but their go away fairly quickly.

Constantly. The video I took is after a 20min drive from school to home.

Sounds like leak to me, does it do it on one side?

take off the airbox and hold some tissue down by the flange to see if it's the exhaust leak.

That is not normal. My C32 is pretty quite overall.

It could be a vacuum leak on one of the lines for the SC, that are behind it, they are known to crack overtime, especially if you are in a climate with extreme heat (Like Phx,AZ).

When I had the 2003 Kompressor C230 it had that issue, especially on cold start, after it warmed up it went away a bit, but could still hear it. The dealership had to replace the vacuum hoses that had to do with the SC 2 times, I think it was a recall item as well, so they covered it.

If it's a vacuum leak, could that be connected with the fact that I lose power on the supercharger from time to time?

And yeah, it's only on one side.

Do you smell any exhaust or feel any hot air come from that? remove the filters and recheck, maybe PCV hose came undone

i can tell you one thing. thats probbably not a internal engine problem. i have torn into quite a few engines in my day and they dont make that sound when they blow up. i have torn into engines that seemed to be tapping at the right rear and the sound was coming from the left front. that sounds like a common problem with a electronic motor that makes that noise when it goes bad. i cant remember what it is right now. maybe someone else can shed some light on the issue. its def a electrical problem.

Nope, no weird smells or air coming from anywhere. And a small correction to myself, it's coming from both sides of the engineblock.
I'll probably take it to my mechaninc to have them check it out, and to have them look at the supercharger again, nobody has been able to figure why I lose power sometimes still. (I keep asking them if it could be the IC pump, but they never answer and always change the subject, so I'm kinda wondering if they just try to milk me for money)
