I had it done once.
I was told by my local MB tech that disconnecting the battery does not clear the adaptive learning.
Can anyone else confirm this ?

Out Of Control!!
Disconnect the battery and hold the brakes for 2 seconds (until brake lights don't work). This will set the ECU back to its base settings.

Just drive differently for a couple hundred miles, and it will adapt.

Just drive different for a couple of mile - not 100.
I think too much is being made about clearing the adaptive learning via disonnecting the battery, etc. I think the transmission adapts much quicker than people think. For me, just one hot lap at an autocross will change my car from a sedate town cruiser, to a real monster.
