hello, i have a 97 c36... and wanted to ask you 32 guys an exhaust question cuz it sounds like you guys know...
i wanted to cut out my resonator to improve the sound... but will it hurt performance? and will i pass inspection?

It will save some weight, and possibly add 1-2 hp (providing you put a mandrel bent pipe in its place with proper welds). The resonator has nothing to do with emissions and will not effect inspections.

thanks mach430... i appreciate it. can i ask another question? to remove the resonator, the catalytic converter has to come out too right? cause the resonator is inside the cat...no?

No the catalytic converter and the resonator are completly different things, The cats on the c36 are positioned right after the exhaust manifold in the center of the car and the resonator is right before the muffler. The resonator only job is to supress sound. The Cats are for emmission control.
