2005 c55
Hi,
Im about to upgrade to a new car and just looked at a 2005 c55AMG with 25,000 miles I am really interested in, just wondering what you guys think about your cars? are they a reliable long term car? I have also looked at a few BMW335i's and v8 audi s4's but have heard they have alot of problems with the twin turbo 3liter . and have not heard to much positive about audis reliability. any thoughts on any of these cars would be helpful
thanks

Very reliable cars. Engines are bullet proof, just make sure service history is up to date getting records of what has been replaced is always a good idea. These are fast fun cars. Having both C55 and CLK55 I'd chose the C any day. Just hit 56,000 miles on mine no issues so far just maintenance items.

C55 AMG
C55's are very reliable, everyone I have ever seen has only had the usual maintenance work done along with minor wear and tear. If the price is right I'd say come on down!!!!

Been in your shoes. Cross shopped exactly the same cars, with the addition of a E46 M3 and Lexus IS-F. I'm still very happy with my decision of going with the C55 AMG.

I bought mine with 40,000 miles. I had it dyno tuned at OE tuning last summer when it had about 130,000 or so miles and it made 305 HP at the wheels. Very close to stock numbers. the only issue I have seen, and this is after many trips to the racetrack using a 125 shot of NOS, is a slight hiccup in the transmission when it's cold.
Other than that, car runs like new. I may one day upgrade the clutches in the tranny but for now it's working perfectly fine.
