I think C32 don't need a V8 to be C55. The only thing AMG should do to our C32 is replace the AUTO tranny to a nice 6-speed manuel tranny. This will make the C32 10% more fun to drive. (well traffic will than take the 10% fun away from you again.)

now, the C55 will have the 7G-tronic automatic trans, and it may be bit quicker at the highway... as well as, I am guessing a even 0-60....changing 0-1000m current times perhaps 24sg. flat.

Does anyone think a car with this much power and torque needs seven speeds? I don't know...I'm asking for opinions and explanations.

I will believe this C55 crap when i hear it from a reliable source. Those are all fake photos, and i wouldnt be surprised if there are no plans at all to change the c32 yet. The only change i see happening is maybe putting a supercharged 3.5 liter. AMG had this v8 before and chose not to use it, I dont see any true logical reason to change the engine now, just not enough difference.
And for dopes like crb and tifosiv122, this is just a chance for them to talk smack about cars they cant afford.

The best car I have ever owned(and still own, can't bring myself to sell it) is a late 80's 2000Lb 195hp car with no electronic thing-a-ma-jigs. Funnest car I have ever driven.

And even if they never put a 6 speed manual in the C32 (dont think they ever will) it would be pretty cool with the Mercedes Sequentronic tranny.

You didn't say more prestigious, you said "true heir to the C43," based on the sound of a V8. Stop dressing up your previous statement to make you look like some innocent lamb that was led into this forum to be slaughtered.
Of course, as a C32 bests the CLK55 in its speed ratings (and as for handling, I again ask you to explain how more weight up front is going to help a car that already has oversteer issues), it seems that your best argument truly is "Most Mercedes owners wouldn't know a supercharger if they saw one." Sweet debate skills!

However, the only car company that I can think of that has a top model with fewer cylinders than a lower model is the SAAB 9-5 Aero has a turbo four and a six can be had in a lesser model.
Other examples: Maybe the Honda S2000, but that is a sportscar. I guess the Cayenne S (with V-8) is cheaper than a 911(flat 6), but clearly apples and orange there.
When you say "value", do you mean charge more or some kind or engineering department affection?

engineering department affection. Not considering about how much they charge you for the car. For example, Toyota Supra RZ, Nissan Skyline GT-R, Mitsubishi EVO, Subaru WRX, etc. They all could have stuff a V8 or a 6 cyclinder engine in their cars, but they didn't. Still, they are some of the most better sports cars and sports compact sedans in the world.
Just trying to make a point that V8 or larger engine will not always mean more performance.
btw, Jaguar XJ220 had a twin turboed 3.5 liter inline-6, which puts out more than 540hp at 7000rpm. Jaguar originally used a twin turbo V12 that promised more than 500hp. Instead they did it with the inline 6.

Just to set the record straight
The Jaguar XJ220, which I think is one of the top five most desirable cars ever does have an V6 engine and not an inline 6.
I read many owners were rather disappointed in this engine choice as a real super car is either thought to have inline 6, V8 or V12 configurations.
I would still love to have a XJ220. However I will settle for a V12 mercedes one of these days.

Alpharettac32, thanks for taking the time to make those points to CRB.
CRB, u didnt just state an opinion, u were intentionally insulting and far from logical. Its not mine or anyone else’s fault on this forum that u could not afford a c32, but dont think because of that i will just read your silly comments and not strike back. Look, here is another example, perhaps immature but what the hell.
CRB, your girlfriend is really, really good... at giving ***.

I like the look(the C-sedan headlights were always its weakest styling point- although the BiXenon versions do look nice), but is this really still a C-Class? Seems more like a four door CLK55.
I'd take the C32....you guys are going to go broke trying to mod the N/A V8. And where's the effin manual transmission? How about keeping the C32 in production, give us a stick, and the four door CLK55 can use the automatic?

outland, my intentions were not to insult everyone with a c230, i was just stabbing back at someone. Besides, my little sister drives a c230, why would i insult it.....
Oh, and zoolander is hilarious, if u have only seen it once see it again, sometimes it takes two trys to really pick up how funny of a movie it is.

One thing for sure, this thread is funny.
I could care less if MB follows what every car manufacturer does, toss in a "bigger" motor at the end of a model life-cycle to make a few sales on a design that is getting "long in the tooth". Nobody else notice this trend? Supercharge that 55 and I might bite the hook and buy the aging sheetmetal with it.
BTW I really don't believe in the new headlamps, too much cost, not enough payback.
So it is a "new motor" (borrowed) and 18 inch wheels? Sorry not buying. Maybe leased guys will take this upgrade.

How can the lights and hood be 'not worth the cost'? Geezuz. What do you think the CLK is? Its a two door C-Sedan. Floorpan, chassis, suspension, hardpoints, its all C. That'd be a nearly bolt on change for the C32. Like I said, I like the look, but question the need when the biggest problem(only problem???) with the C32 isn't the engine, its the transmission. Where's the stick?

I can't say I found Zoolander all that funny...it would have made for a really hillarious skit on SNL, but didn't seem to have the material to make a whole movie out of it.
