Really? Seeing as how I'm faster than the CLK55 out there right now*, I'd love to hear your explanation.

C32 AMG
I am guessing with the new V8, the car will be selling for over $60K... Just like at the CLK55 with the over $70K sticker!!! It's just another great way for MB to make more money on their AMG models.

I think it would be a mistake for Mercedes to change the price point of the car. Right now it goes for a similar price as the M3 and offers four doors for the price of two.

Even CAR Magazine is impressed by the price for what you get (It's listed as the "Do Mention" about the car.)

I agree totally! I drove the CLK55 at the Lime Rock AMG Challenge and I felt like my car was faster. Certainly nothing like "I wish I got a V8"

For those that like to mod their cars for more power, it seems the N/A V8 will be much more expensive proposition to get additional power.

BTW...how much does the V8 weigh compared to our V6 Kompressor.

So, do you think the C55 AMG will cost about the same as the current C32 AMG?

Finally....worth the AMG logo...

Oh... the C32 is not worthy of the AMG logo? THAT IS TOTAL BS!

The motor is going to change and all of a sudden it really is an AMG?!?!

Erik, anytime you wanna race your c230 coupe, I will show you the AMG badge on the rear of my car. But... your gonna need a telescope to see it with the distance that I will put between us

Again, I think its cool they will put the V8 in the C class, as well as the CLK front end. But now what makes it unique? Why not just get the CLK 55?
Its is the supercharged V6 that now makes the C32 unique.

I am totally agree the CLK55 is a bit slower than the C32, and expencive to mod.
CLK55 does a 0-1,000m (1Km)= 24.5sg vs. 24.3 C32 (AMG specs)
now, the C55 will have the 7G-tronic automatic trans, and it may be bit quicker at the highway... as well as, I am guessing a even 0-60....changing 0-1000m current times perhaps 24sg. flat.

The C55 is all about the marketing panache of a V8 and it seems to be working on some people on this board. Now that the S4 has a V8 the C class AMG needs one as well.

Again, does anyone know the weights of the engines? The last thing I want in my C32 is more weight on the front end.

Yeah, but not like that's going to catch YOUR C32 anytime soon!

C230 Sedan - 6 spd.
Thumbs up

Nice! Thanks for posting the pics. Do you guys think that this is representative of the new C-class face-lift for 2004/2005? I really like the new headlamps(both the shape and clear lens). And is that individual LED's for the brake lights??? Anyways, the car looks good.

tifosiv122, the c32 isnt worth the amg logo?...This comming from someone who drives a c230 Komp.....the c32 does 60mph in under 5 seconds and when released AMG had it as the fastest production mercedes made (tied with clk55 with a 4.9 0 to 60 time), to say it doesnt deserve an amg logo is like saying that a c230 komp is a mans car....its just not true.

Ohh! yeah AlpharettaC32 no way,
my car today with the my mods ($3,500) + just installed SL55 Y-pipe and the thermo-isolated air box should be within low middle 23 sg. 0-1000m.....
imagine what is going to happen
with the EVOsoprt headers ($1,690) .....
&
3.8L RENNtech conversion ($9,890).......
the 2004-5 C55 must have Kleemann ($19,000) to be on the 22 sg range ('03 E55 and 360 Modena territory)!

Thanks

I must be missing it. What looks any different than our current cars besides the larger wheels and a V8 badge?

Pierre,

I love your steering wheel(victor), where can i get one of those? Do you know if the place you got it at also sells interior pieces for our car? That wheel would look really good if the interior pieces matched it, instead of the textured aluminum that the C32 comes with. It goes perfect with the shifter, and the pedals.

thx

I can agree with that. Not only does the S4 have a V8 now, the next M3 will have a V8. So thats about all the cars the C32 can compete with. It could be a reason why they decided to put the V8 in it. Who knows, I would love to see some specs though.

Thanks ChrisC32,

http://groups.msn.com/Mercedes2003C3...oto&PhotoID=38

you may do it with EVOsport, Ben can give to you more details or

Victor USA Inc.
P.O. Box 480462
Delray Beach, FL 33448

Phone (561) 703-1253

, and remember either way the steering will take between 5-7 week to get it……but is definitely worth it!

no idea for other interior pieces, I believe RENNtech has it a kit, at list for the C-Sportcoupe.

Ciao

Does the C32 NEED a V8 to compete or to be marketable? We're already faster than the newer (and heavier) V8 6 spd. manual S4. Is it going to necessarily be a better car because it has a V8?

I'm not even sure what to make about the comment "So thats about all the cars the C32 can compete with"
