Rear brake rotors crossdrilled
It seems that Zimmerman makes crossdrilled rotors for almost all european cars, but I can't find the rear C32s anywhere.
Anyone have the part numbers for these rotors? Thanks
dual piston sliding calipers, stock are single piston.
All in all the C32 rear brakes are far better than the stock C class, and best of all are designed and integrated into the C32 as a system. The same system will bolt onto any other W203 C class car, for a nice factory system that stops GREAT.
I really notice the braking is BETTER
Stops shorted than before.
Just think about traveling at 60 on a freeway, stoping 20 feet shorter due to the C32 brakes can easly be the difference between an accident and just a close one.
phattbam, did the rear rotors you get were they crossdrilled?
Question for Ben and Vadim at Evosport, how much for rear C32 crossdrilled rotors?
Just advertise on the C32 section. Wanted to Buy
I am not directing this at you. I have seen many, many posts on forums about upgraded brake kits and "What it does do is take away any brake fade that was present and give you a better feel along with look" They do drastically improve stopping distances.
WRONG, it is very simple, YES they look better. But is is simple, we want one fast stop. Here are the figures from road tests:
C230K Coupe stops in 132 feet at 60 mpg. Car weight 3200+
C32 AMG sedan stops in 118 feet at 60 mpg. Car weight 3600+
C230K Coupe with C32 brakes should stops in 110 feet at 60 mpg. It's all about that precious 22 feet, not about the fade resistance. It is for that one panic brake that may save their lives.
The C32 is one of the fastest 4 door sedans ever. It has a very good brake system, 4 wheel ventillated discs, Brembro front calipers. But those with the spirit and money to upgrade the C32 with an even better stopping system, do so not for brake fade. Again they do it for that one panic brake that may save their lives.
There is always a better braking system out there, just how much money do you want to spend. Both Mercedes and Porche have $8,000 carbon fiber and ceramic rotors that can drastically decrease stopping distances. Movitt has 8 piston calipers! Just guessing, but say the C32 stops in 108 feet with an upgraded StopTech or Movitt brake system. Just may save the car and lives from an accident when driving too fast.
Just remember those people who are upgrading their brakes are not putting on cheap tires with 80,000 mile wear guarantees, but don't stop for beans. They probably already have great tires, Z rated and great stoppers. So they aren't getting 80,000 miles on each tire, perhaps 15K to 20K at best.
