c32 spark plug job need advise
Hey thanks for the help
I was able to get the coil packs off but wasn't able to remove the spark plug wires off the plug.
I didn't want to break anything. What's the best way to remove the spark plug wire boots off the plugs? More specifically if your looking at the engine the right side closest to the firewall. There is almost no room to use any tools.
Help a brother out!

Hi,
So I'm about to go attempt this job again at the shop where I work.
Can anyone give me any other tips on how to remove the spark plug boots from the wires? *specifically the one on the left side of the engine (your right side if your looking at it) with the coil pack closest to the firewall.
I tried pulling on the spark plug boots very hard, and they wouldn't budge. I then became nervous and didn't want to break anything. There isn't really enough room to reach a wrench or a spark plug boot puller in there.
Please tell me how you guys did it!! I don't want to pay someone 2 hours labor for this job!

so again I tried for HOURS, and could not free the spark plug boots.
I am thoroughly frustrated and pissed off, I tried EVERYTHING POSSIBLE with no luck.
I even had a journeyman mechanic try to remove them and he told me to take it to the dealership... I tried twisting, pulling, pushing, you name it and I COULD NOT free the "B" wire boot from Cylinder #6 (the one closest to the firewall)
Every other plug boot was easy to come out, but I COULD NOT for the life of me remove it. There is absolutely zero clearance to use a spark plug boot puller, and impossible to use a 17mm or 18mm wrench like others are suggesting.
Please, somebody tell me how you removed this spark plug boot... I can't pay $500 at the dealer for them to replace the plugs for me.... because without freeing this boot I can't replace any of the spark plugs.
I have literally spent 6+ hours and could not free it.
Please someone help!

I broke several of the stock wires getting them off. They are a major PITA to get off, especially if the plugs have never been changed. I would just get a set of replacement magnecore and junk the oem wires.

Where's a good place to get plug wires? Only place local around here wants like $450 for a set for the C32.
Looks like I'll have to bust them out

I purchased from a member on this forum. However, you can find them for a decent price on www.needswings.com. I've purchased quite a lot from them in the past. Rob is a good guy. If you want anything at a good price, you'll have to purchase online.
Here's the link http://www.needswings.com/Magnecor-K...les-65211.aspx
$129.95 and they're thicker wires.

If you decide to go with OEM, the Bosch wire set is available at Amazon for under $100 bucks. Be aware also that you have to apply SERIOUS pressure to get the new metal boots to seat fully and snap onto the plug.

we are not affiliated with the seller but this is what you want...

you leverage off the valve cover to pop the oem wire off the plug, if you just pull the oem wire off they usually get damaged and need to be replaced.
