FYI - C55 trans leak
Never use anything but Mercedes Benz for the part that goes into the transmission where the electrical connector resides. I got one off of EBAY with a pan gasket. Fortunately the pan gasket was fine even though the fit wasn't as good as the original factory purchase gasket. However the o-rings on the connector were at least 1/16" too small and I had a major oil leak. The leak took several weeks to appear too which is totally wierd. Fortunately I kept the factory one (I've been struggling with a jerky shift so recently replaced the solenoid and bought one from MB then so the one I took out that didn't leak was actually still relatively new). I used a caliper to examine the overall size difference between factory and aftermarket and both the large and small o-rings were much smaller than factory. I measured the total diameter across the connector not the diameter of the o-rings themselves. So just wanted to share this tid-bit of info just in case you are considering going cheap.

Did changing the solenoid replacement correct the jerky shift?
are you still dealing with these issues or did resolving the leaks correct the problem? did you throw a check engine light with the jerk?
