Merc C55 AMG - Faster gearing
Hi guys,
I am wondering what the options are to make my C55 from 2005 gear faster. Are there mods/stock upgrades to do this? I read on another forum about the "speedshift plus" but I cannot find any information on it. Would be great to be able to do this.
Thanks, Pieter

2005 C55 black on black aka DVS C55, 2007 C230 sport silver on black for the boss
The C55 has the 722.6 Speedshift. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercede...c_transmission
Options to increase shift speed:
TCU tune: electronic increased shift speed
Valve body upgrade: fluid increased shift speed
Blue top solenoids: extremely fast/extremely firm upshifts and down shifts
You can get a TCU and a valve body for very fast but still comfortable shifting
Blue Tops are hardcore

thank you for the reply. Where can I find more info on these 3 options? Which tuners have kits for these?

RPieter, I have done the bluetop solenoids, they are pretty rough on the downshift when you're just driving normal in the car but are a joy when you want to drive like a hooligan. That also may be due to my 1st gear slipping and needing to swap the PWM solenoid. Regardless here is the link, and on the final page is a video I made after the install.

Hi Bryan,
I saw your facebook movie, that looks a lot faster gearing than my car is doing at the moment I definitely have to install the Blue Top pressure control valves in my gearbox if this is the effect. You said somewhere on the forum that you ordered them at ECS Tuning? I looked at their website and could only find the Brown Top pressure control valves and the Solenoid Valve. Can you maybe provide me with a link to the blue tops?
Do you know exactly what these control valves are doing technically, and why they make the car gear so much faster? And what is the function of the solenoid valve?
I also looked this forum (and the internet) for the "Valve body upgrade" but I could not find a good explanation what this upgrade is doing exactly, nor where I can order it or a company that can install it. Somebody has more info on this?
Then for the TCU tune, I understand what it does, and could only find the company Eurocharge for this. Are there other options?
Thank you for helping me out !

Ok that would be great amgen Which upgrades did you do to your car to get the 414hp on it? Did you also changed to the Blue Top pressure control valves and/or the solenoid valves and or the valve body upgrade? I am not getting any wiser on this topic.
