I can't stay away. :) In another AMG

Earlier in the year, I decided to sell my cars, including my mint 2005 CLK55 AMG.

To get to the ideal one car scenario. Narrowed it down to a CLA45, S3, or Focus RS. As I knew if I got a C63, it too would become a garage queen.

Ended up choosing Focus RS, have one on order, and the overall cost and not having an AMG any more, started to have me hesitate. Just shy of 45K OTD. I may still decide to pull the trigger, time will tell.

But for now, came across a superb C55 with only 33K miles. Sure does make the choice of not buying the RS easier.

Without further ado...

The C55 is 100% bone stock and a base car. Mainly a Brilliant Silver person, but I have to admit, the Obsidian Black looks fantastic.

Here is my old CLK55 similar shot for comparison.

Back to the C55, as far as plans. Would really like to install OEM Xenons, depends how involved it will be and if I can even source the parts. Read issue with getting the auto level to work, will do more research. Also, would like to check out my options for integrating bluetooth.

Other than that, with winter dawning near, time for a winter wheel/tire combo.

Will hunt for Renntech Airbox, and get a tune in spring.

Glad to be back in an AMG.

forget the Renntech intake had it on my CLK, I am now running the CL55K airbox and am very happy with it.

I had to buy a C55 to be competitive.

This one will be a daily driver this time, had my last one for over four years and put on about 4K miles. Talked with the guy that bought my CLK55, he already put on that many miles in a few months.

I might add headers later on, but I am thinking just doing the basics, and getting a '12+ 63 in 2-3 years. All depends on what I run. I ran 12.9@108.xx in my CLK55 with headers, AEM filters, Renntech Intake, and EC tune. I ran my friends C55 the same day, EC tune, AEM filters, and deleted secondaries, first run was a 13.1xx@107.xx. Definitely had a 13.0 in it. Granted the CLK55 is about 150lbs heavier.

I will get a base line in the spring.

I totally agree, which is why the C55 will be replaced with a w204 C63 coupe down the round.

I also like the way it looks.

On a side note, I would just be beyond ecstatic, if for once when I bought an AMG, I did not have to replace a license plate screw rivet. 4 for 4 haha.
