C55 Production Availability!
I just wanted to let you guys know that our first allocation spot for the new C55 is open. The car is scheduled for the first decade of April build and should be available for delivery around the middle of May. The car can still be changed to your specifications, so if anyone is interested please let me know!!!

I'm a noob (to board and amg), what does this all mean? I was drooling over one when I picked my c230k up at the shop.

As far as I know right now, the official pricing has not been released, but I do not think it will be much more than the current C32! At least that is what I am hoping to hear from MBUSA.

Just so you know the car is still unspoken for and anyone who wants it has about 2 weeks before the colors and options are frozen & cannot be modified. Please let me know if you are interested and you can be the first guy/gal on the block with the newest toy!!!

I think your going to find that its going to be unclaimed for a while, its just not enough of a car to warrant any type of fenzy over. People are a bit more savy to fall for the "first guy/gal on the block with the newest toy!!! " line.

I feel that everyone on this forum is a very savy individual or they would not take the time to post here!! I believe in the current market situation most people are in the "Let's wait and see it in person" mentality. That is completely respectable, but I want to let everyone know (that feels this car is exactly what they are looking for), have an opportunity to get one of the first cars. As well as having it to built exactly to his/her specs. It is not a "line", just a simple statement that should not be read too much into!

Bi-Xenons are not standard on the C55! You still have to order the Lighting Pkg. (319) to get those on the car.

I am not sure as to where you live and I would say that will have a lot of bearing on the timeline, but I still have an build spot for the first part of April. I know this does not help much, but I am hoping to see our first car in the month of May!!

Just checked to see how the production was coming along with the C55 that we have and noticed the build date was changed. It is now not scheduled for production until June, so it looks like they are officially delaying the build until after the launch of the regular C-class! By the way, the car is still available for anyone that is interested.

picture your car(if its a sedan) with a handbuilt v8 amg engine produces around 360hp. with amg suspension, amg brakes...basicly the top of the line c class. you can't really get any better. look around on the boards and you will see some pictures. otherwise check out www.germancarfans.com

Early magazine reports say the handling over C32 is improved, but offer no hard data as yet. They do mention a firmer more sporty suspension, that is much more "involving" and fun to drive hard, but to keep it in perspective it is still not a match for the E46M3 handling, they say.
C55 is just a hair quicker than C32 on their clocks.
The price differential over E46M3 is further increased and apparently is up 3000 british pounds, or about $5400 USD, over the former C32. (US pricing will surely be different though).

In my mind it also looks like the C55 might be a "transition" model as Id guess a C class redesign would be forthcoming shortly? When manufacturers drop a bigger engine in and do a quick intererior redesign, it always seems that that spells the end of that particular overall design. The changes are made to keep interest for another year or so.
