Dealer cheated me
1. I told them to fix both seats and they only fixed the driver side. I think this was just a communication problem between me and the service person. But I have to wonder why they didn't check the passenger seat..
2. They told me the day after they looked at my car that they would need to order parts from Germany and it would take a week or two. They emphasized that my car was an AMG and it is special and needs special parts. They call me one day later and say the part has unexpectedly come in early and told me to come in whenever I have time. Since I always have nothing to do, I go in that day and leave my car there. He tells me it would take a day or more because he needs to take it to an upholstery shop. When I get the car back, the seat warmer is working, but the leather that touches my butt is not the same as the leather touching my back. The leather is softer and wrinkles more easily. I'm guessing it is the regular leather they use for the C class not the nice leather for the AMG version. I call the service person and he gives me some BS about the leather being new and it is not broken in. Clearly, it is not the right leather if compared to the passenger seat.
My question is, for the people that have reported this problem and got it fixed, how did they fix yours? How did you get them to replace the whole seat?
Please help...
They emphasized that my car was an AMG and it is special and needs special parts.
Oh yea, the leather was matching. How can they put non-matching leather on your car? That is pathetic.
I would ***** and try and get your way!
Again the dealer ordered the wrong part (i.e. standard C-Class heater element) then realised that it is an AMG special order. It took 2 or 3 weeks to get the new heat pad/leather.

Sounds like they cheezed you out. Why go all the way to Carlsbad for work? I have had very good experiences at MBZ of San Diego (at 163 and Balboa). Nice loaner cars, good communication (my advisor was Jorge Serrano, maybe you can request him). I just had my driver's **** fixed by them (in a good way). It is my understanding that the proper way of doing this job is to replace the leather on the seat butt along with the heating element. The butt of my driver seat now looks slightly lighter than the passenger seat, but I'm hoping that a few acrid farts will darken it up some. You can check it out on Saturday. If I were you, I would set up an appointment at MBZ San Diego to have them check it out.
