Car back on road from winter storage

u don't realize how nice these cars are in handling, acceleration, braking, plus did bunch of mods/maintenance stuff through winter, led lights, oil catch can, secondary air pump, illuminated door sills, oil change, valve covers and breather cover gaskets, front pads akebono, was going to buy coilovers, but I order Michelin pss 235 front, 255 rear instead

Details on the catch can install please. It's something I think would really help. :y

My car was in the shop for about 5 weeks and getting it back was a revelation. I almost forgot how much I love the torque. Enjoy those new tires.

Edit: I just now saw you have a C32, so the catch can diy probably won't help me, but still cool and maybe someone else wants to see it too.

I also did fuel filter, just tried to keep myself busy did all work myself. The oil catch can from needswing I got, u don't need to take off upper intake manifold, I just cut the old hose which was discentegrated from inside, I did have to take off needswing dcai off even the ypipe, which is tricky, funny that my winter car lexus es330 is louder then my c32.

What issue are you having that you need a catch can? I have one sitting in the garage but have seen no reason to install it.

I know with c32 they injest lots of oil from the pcv pipes from breather covers, and that eventually contaminates intercooler and the iat sensor. C55 might be different but if u have I would put it on, just to prevent any oil on map, iat sensors

Well.... the reason I asked is that the C55 is not forced induction and has no map sensor.

C55 does have a MAP sensor

You are correct. I was just thinking about the fact we dont use it for air fuel since we have a MAF.

Morphh you will love those Michelin PSS tires... will feel like a totally different car if you've not driven on them.

I unfortunately did not have time to take mine off this winter and get on the Continental all seasons, so of course I got stuck in the snow in front of my house since the PSS suck in snow...but summer you'll love them.

Glad to see your C32 is running strong!

As for mine, I am having Rudy swap motors for mine in the next few weeks since I'm still on that bent rod issue...I'm still driving it (carefully) and with Continental DWS tires finally on this winter in Chicago its been no issues at all (tried my E63S with Pzero summer tires in snow and was not a good...hence why i love my little C32 with all seasons and am keeping her!!!)

Glad to here u keeping c32, I have been looking at c63s, e63, ats v. But I don't think I would get rid of c32amg, I so lost on putting coilovers on car or not, there are bilistien b14, pss9, HR, kv2. just don't won't to lose the ride, for DD. I do track it 2-4 times a year. As for the c55 if u have oil catch can it wouldn't hurt putting it on, I would clean maf, throttle body before install.

Morphh-

I have H&R lowering springs mounted on Bilstein B8 shocks all the way around. Had to get the beefier spring pads for the rear because I hated how low it sat, but after that the car handles beautifully. Just as smooth as ever on the freeway, a little more harsh over bumps, but far from uncomfortable. And handling wise its significantly better, I actually enjoy twisty back roads now whereas with OEM (albeit 10 years old) suspension I never had a smile on my face unless my foot was in it.

Here as some photos of how my C32 sits.

Anyone have more any input on ride quality, I have been so confused about either coilovers or b8 and lowering springs. I have 2 baby seats in back, take that in consideration thanks for inputs

insame1 02-28-2017 09:02 AM

coilovers will almost definitely be a harsher ride. I had tiens on my C32 and it beat the crap out of me. Not to mention that as high as I could get the car was just barley high enough for daily driving.
