Went to the Dragstrip

Today I went to the dragstrip with my C55 for the first time. I have a 100% stock 05 with 141k miles.

At first I struggled with traction but I got better as the night went down. I ran the car on Sport mode and ESP off every time. I was able to do burnouts with no problem.

My best time was a 13.2

Car #1 was a friend with a 392 SRT8 Challenger, this was his best run of the day, we both got 4 runs in. To be fair he struggled quite a bit with traction, earlier he trapped 111, so his car definitely had more.

Morpph, is it like that, -putting it in dyno-mode, resets all the adaptations?

Tried it myself tonight and it spun like crazy, even after I put it back to normal mode after driving in dyno-mode a short distance.
ABS and ESP lightned up my dashboard during dyno-mode.

In that case what a wonderful and easy thing to do!

If u drive car like a granny car will adapt to ur driving and give u better gas mileage, when u put in dyno mode it will give u everything. It just sucks when at set of lights beside someone who wants to run u and u shut car off to put in dyno mode, all done in Mexico lol

The thing I want to make clear is whether dyno-mode clears the adaptation.
If it does, then it must have cleared it even when you put it back to normal?
If so, it´s an amazing easy tool.

I can´t rule out it´s all a placebo-effect, but I´m not sure regarding my short
experience tonight. I think it held gears in another way too when I let off the
throttle.

The TCU-reset had never worked on mine.

In dyno mode it holds gears and that's nice for tracking car at road coaurse, it sucks when u roll beside someone u want to race when u don't have full beans, I believe once u beat on car for 4-6 times it gives u full beans.

Well, if dyno-mode clears adaptations, we all have a new thing going on here on the board!

Can someone else here verify, or at least try it out?

Happy Easter to everyone!

I know Morphh and his car personally, and while he has an aftermarket TCU and tune, we may need a couple more unmodified testers to accurately conclude

The sneaky reset works just fine and is usually faster than going into and out of dyno mode (if you're just looking for a quick reset):
1. Turn the ignition key to the on (not start) position.
2. Press the gas pedal to the floor and hold for five seconds.
3. Turn the key to the "off" position (don't remove the key), then release the gas pedal.

I didn't know of the quick reset. Thanks. Dyno mode picked me up a second in 1/8th as the Kleeman keeps the OEM Gremlins busy. Dropped from 9.1 to 7.9 with the 60ft best of 1.62 on 360 AAA tires in dyno. Without dyno it typically short times 1.9x

i have noticed when driving in dyno mode, that after a few days or so, the car will sometimes get stuck in 3rd gear, have to switch off to reset it, then when returning back to normal mode does not do it again. hmm

I turned ASP off, put the car in sport mode, that I only use to race (autocross/dragstrip/mexico) and then I just did a brake stand both for launch and for burnouts. Had no problems spinning my tires.
