AMG body kit on C230K
Saw many C230K with AMG bodykit. How do you fellows feel about it?
I am kinda about it. I can't differentiate between C32 and C230K now by just looking at my rear view mirror.

Yea dont really understand y mercedes did that. I feel it should have been offered as an option but i feel like most people wont be able to tell the difference, taking prestige away from its higher end models.

Most of the world except USA offers the C class with AMG lower body work including front and rear bumpers and side skirts. The official AMG website even offers it there. I can understand if people put the AMG body and rebadge it as a c32 but if someone has a AMG body with AMG badge, I don't see the problem there. The AMG badge does not mean there is a AMG powerplant.

either way, who cares!? I don't! If they wanna race me, I'll smoke'em. If they don't then that's fine w/ me too. Just enjoy what you have.
I laugh at anyone who has extra badges on their car, but that's just me. I do enjoy if they got tasteful mods tho.
btw, best way to tell is actually from the TAIL LIGHT. The 05 has a more clear/diamond like tail light. Oh yeah, and they are NOT LEDS.

Well it can be a bit annoying of having Mercedes allowing AMG body kits on the lower models. Look at it this way I'm still happy driving my car down the road with all the AMG goodies
As for Mercedes looking out for its profit margins, it's not any different then any other car manufacturer. BMW does the same thing with its M division.

I agree with Frankie.... who cares..... its just a body kit and a few badges. Its the engine that makes it different from the lower C-classes....I was going to buy the AMG body kit for my car so does that make me a poser or does that make any of you upset?? I am just trying to make my car cosmetically better looking... anyways, the new C55 AMG has a different body kit and looks different than the lower C-classes. You can't compare your 01-04 C-classes with the 05. Just my opinion...

I don't see anything wrong with having AMG kit on non-AMG cars.
I saw this C class near my uni yesterday, you guys can take the wildest guess what was badged on it

In early 1994, BMW released their M technique body kit for the 325is. It was an exact duplicate of the M3 body kit offered in europe, including all the suspension components. In fact, its MSRP was higher than the later in the year M3 that was released. You can imagine what those 325 buyers were saying when they paid 38,000 for a 325 when they could have had an M3 for only 36,000! a few months later when GMBH decided it would import its M3 with a modified and bored out 325 block and similar head. It is actually a very rare car and had unique 10 spoke mesh two piece wheels if I remember correcly, and I believe they only came in white. The side molding marker read "M technique". Interesting what the North American marketing people think up to spend our money on.
