Thoughts on FI?? Turbo C55 -June Blood, BloodMotorsports

Hey C-Class Fam,

Curious, if anyone here follows "JuneBlood" on Instagram or his "BloodMotorSports" Facebook Group.
It's ran by a talented black dude who specializes in custom turbo kits and swaps.
I contacted him and he offers a C55 custom turbo kit for $3200. It would include a centrifugal 68 trim turbo, waste gate, turbo manifold crossover and blow-off valve. He also says that is all that would be needed to run.

Being that I am in Socal, I would probably want a intercooler and tune to make sure it can also run reliably for as long as possible.

Wondering if anyone can share their input on this.
Is it even wise to centrifugal turbo a 15 year old car with stock internals with just what the kit includes? Even at a low PSI?
Or at the very least what other supporting mods would you need?

At minimum you would want an AFR check on a dyno, this will tell you how lean it runs and how far you can go before you need to upgrade injectors, fuel pump ect.
After that the sky is the limit, until the rods, pistons or something else reaches its limits.

Hey thanks for chiming in. So you are saying with the "kit" and a AFR check on dyno I can see what are the limits before problems occur with the current setup?
Wouldn't I also need a tune to regulate the boost levels during driving as well?

He knows how to make power but his fit and finish is complete **** for a daily driver. Not sure he's worried about reliability or longevity either. Making big power for videos is pretty easy. Doing it every day reliably is a whole other deal entirely.

When getting a tune they will be keeping an eye on AFR, if it leans out your motor will be destroyed, it is one of the key pieces of information for a tuner.
From what i have read online, noone really knows how far they can push this motor, especially with boost and it will always depend on the condition of the motor to begin with.

Dang I didn’t know people speak about me on here but thanks

But I run a lot of things my self and this site is a little to much for me but I’ll tune in and all the builds are daily drivers with ac and all my LS_C does not have ac because of how I made the turbo kit 5 years ago but when I do another it will contain ac and thanks

You get what you pay for. A tuner turbo kit for my Miata is $4500. More for my old Z. A working kit for less than 4K on a premium car like a C55 that has even less engine bay room than the 2 cars I listed that works? Sign me up. As long as the manifold is made relatively well and the turbo is up to snuff I see no reason why I wouldn't buy this and tidy it up as I saw fit.
