Harmonic Balancer Still Wobbles after Dealership Visit

Hey everyone! Im new to the forums and tried looking up some answers in other threads but felt like my situation was sort of unique, so I figured I can ask you guys for your opinion.

I recently noticed that my M113 AMG had harmonic balancer wobble and decided to get it replaced at the dealership. Installation went well from what I heard but when I took a look when I got it back I noticed that the new harmonic balancer still wobbles pretty much the same amount as the old one did. This had me confused since I thought these were precisely machined, weighed, and most importantly, BALANCED!

My technician made sure to tell me that the amount of wobble is normal and within normal operation even with the wobble. I had got this job done at Hendrick Motors Charlotte - Mercedes and my technician has had over 20 years of experience working at this dealership. I like to think he is even more the real deal since he is actually German and came from the country, so I feel like his work is pretty warranted and guaranteed when he says not to worry about it since to him its normal for these engines to have this phenomenon.

But for whatever reason it still puzzles me as to how this is possible. I mean do you all really think he might've misinformed me? I understand that no rotating object will spin in perfect balance with no small offset but it does wobble the same as my old one did. All parts were of course OEM since I did this at the dealership.

Please let me know what you all think. I want to believe him in this situation but at the same time I cant help but think about this predicament.
Thanks!

It shouldnt wobble that much in my view.
Anything wobbling is eating bearings, shafts or both unless it has a rubber part that allows the outer to move a bit. The centre should always be locked to the shaft.

This type of pulley does have a rubber insert that allows the outside to move. After checking my old one the rubber was perfectly fine in that one too. This is why I do feel like it’s normal for these engines. If the pulley itself is fine then I doubt it could be something else that’s the issue. Plus if a technician tells me it’s not as it seems then maybe I should believe him? I don’t know.

That's a whole lot of wobble. I wouldn't expect that much even on a K car.

That's what I'm thinking. What confuses me is that I don't feel any vibration at all whether it's at idle or at WOT. It's only visual. Im also confused why my technician thinks it's normal? The guy is pretty experience with these cars.

Do a search on the E55 forum. You may find more info there. There has been discussion about the balancer wobble.

s500 2006
the new video looks like it wobbles more! for what its worth, I had a wobble in my s500 2006. I replaced the crank pulley myself, and afterward, the new one had just as much wobble. So maybe woble is from the crankshaft? not sure, but car is still running great, even with a little crank pulley wobble.
