I agree. I just traded my 2005 Alpine white/black ///M3 for the C55. I have never been happier. The M had several problems that couldn't be resolved, and was not nearly as friendly as a daily driver. I say go C55.

I think in reality everyone is this thread had a chance to own an M3 but passed for number of reasons. Heck I had an E36 M3 and planned on getting the E46 but naaah. Wouldn't want a piece of rod bearing to hit me in the head for making the wrong decision.

2017 C43 Sedan
I had two M3, now I have a C55
I completely agree with rguy... I have driven the C43, SL55, E55 (a 2000 and a 2004), SLK55, and SL65 all at good lengths. The C55 is sporty, aggressive, and yet so comfortable. I love the sound of the C55 too, seems a little louder when just driving around town than some of the higher AMGs. The C55 chasis is rigid. It outhandles any other AMG I have driven, except maybe the C43. Before the C55 I had two M3's. A coupe and then a convertible for a year each. I love the M3, and I miss the stickshift. But I don't miss the rough ride (would be ok if the suspension actually perfomed well), lack of comfort features and options, or the rattles/quality issues. The M3 is a pig (3700 lbs., for a coupe); it produces huge understeer. Overall, it's a track car built for the street and as such BMW has "softened" it up a little, reducing it's handling ability. They didn't as good a job at that as AMG did on the C55. The C55 handles my aggressive cornering beautifully. As far as the SLK55 is concerned, it is a piece of crap. Very uncomfortable, major quality issues, and SLOWER than the C55. That may be due to the 7 speed tranny in the SLK55, I don't know for sure. As for cntlaw's comment, the C55 gets more compliments from the ladies. I'm a young guy in my 20's, so my opinion should be fairly relevant. But that's not why i bought the car, or why anyone should buy an AMG... I only buy a car because I look forward to the driving pleasure I will get from it, but hey that's why I buy M cars and AMGs (enthusiast cars). I have no regrets about switching from the M3 to the C55.

By the way to the original poster:Each car is good at what it was meant to do.You want comfort and TQ,bells and whistles,go AMG.You want a car that's a boy racer with much sporty character that feels more connected to the road? You go m3.All depends on what you want and as I said b4 have fun ,test drive them for yourself.
