Package prices for 05 C Class Maintenance
Well, yesterday we tried to close a deal on a new C55 - but it didn't work out.
Anyways - in talking to the dealer - MBZ now has maintenance packages for the 05 CClass vehicles. You can buy 2, 3, and 4 year packages. For each package, you have the option of going either basic or plus service. Basic covers Service A and B (oil, oil filter, air filter, cabin air filter, brake fluid change at 2 years). Plus covers basic plus brake pads and brake rotors.
For the four year service, it costs about 1400 for the Basic and 2300 for the plus.
Since we did not end up buying the car, it became a non-issue, but I was curious as to why it costs 1400 for the Basic? Really, the only thing that you do is oil changes with oil filters and checking fluids. This really costs only 100 per visit - so why would they charge so high for the Basic package?

That is only $350 per year x 4 years. You cannot get your A and B services for that amount. I wonder if the rotor/pads program would cover it for those of us who track the car. I change pads everytime I go to the track, or everytime I leave the track, which is 6 or 7 times each summer, maybe more. Also change rotors when the cracks get too big. $2300 for 4 years is a great price for that. BMW includes pads and rotors in its maintance program, which is no cost for 3 years and 40 or 50,000 miles.

Well, service A doesn't really involve much other than oil changes and oil filter changes. I'm just wondering how much more Service B involves and costs. I was told service A will be 100 dollars and Service B will be 500 or so. If you do service A 2x and Service B 2x, that's still only 1200 not 1400. Just curious, maybe the service person I talked to was totally wrong?
The brake pad and rotors - they limit it to once a year.
