Took this pic with my phone. Sorry for the bad pic.
It say "C55" on a W202. :smash: :smash: :rolf: :rolf: |
haha crazy people...
although i do remember seeing a W202 on autotrader which had a W210 E55 engine swap and said c55...i don't think this is it. even worse i saw an R129 with "Sl55 AMG" badges and a BIG FERRARI SCUDERIA FIORANO HORSE EMBLEM :hammer: :wwf: |
BTW,
My bro took a pic of a BMW 318i with "AMG" on it. :wwf: :wwf: too bad my bro lost the pic. And he also saw "SL88" :wall: :wall: |
there is a C55 for the W202. VERY limited production. by the looks of that one though... its not.

Thats not too bad. I have seen a few wannabe "C32 AMGs" on the 05 C230 Sedans though. Only I could figure it out was the mustang wheels.

SiLvaC32 is RIGHT! |
If you go over benzworld, mbnz.org there are a lot of guys there who've slapped AMG badges on CLK320's and on the 4 cyl C class. I would like to know who these guys think they are kidding

You'd be surprised... We're car enthusiasts, so obviously we know the real deals from the posers, but most of the people out there will think it's a real AMG because of the Badge... Eric... |
could be the real deal...very very limited w202 C55's were produced.

Eric... I've thought of that before, but you know what my argument is with that? There are people who know what AMG is & those that don't. The one's that don't know what it is wont even look twice at the badge, but the people you're trying to fool into believing it's a real AMG know what AMG is & they would know that it's a fake, so why bother doing it? EDIT: By the way, last weekend i saw an ML55 AMG, which was just a rebadged 430/320. It didn't have the body kit, rims, brakes or exhausts, just the badge. What a fool :nix: I was in my wife's car so i couldn't show him a real AMG, maybe next time. |

My bad, forgive me fellas - I have ///AMG badging but that's just to go along with the body kit.......however, for those who'd missed it on the 210 forum, this is what I would call truly "creative posing":hammer: .....

I saw this silver coupe the other day as i was walking into my hockey game from the parking lot. It had an AMG badge on the right side, MB star in the middle, and then it said RX420 on the left side. I pouring over it wondering WTF. It even had MB wheels (or at least stars on the wheels). I finally walk around to the front, and it occurred to me that it was a new accord coupe. I was so mad I didnt have a digi camera, and my phone camera sucks.

Sorry guys. That is a real C55 .

I cannot tell it is and so as you cannot tell it is not. :y So I use my logic thinking :) W202 C55 is not very well known as today's W203 C55. So there is no point to pretend it is. W202 C55 were sold as limited edition to a very limited few and are truly collectors' favourite chocie. So not surprise you see people keeping them. |

i see , so it is not one of your photoshop product  btw, what car is that? |
I've heard of a few "transplanted" 55 engines into the C43 body....one was built here in Atlanta, tuned and Kleemannized. Ran an 11.5 @ 120 mph in the 1/4 mile on drag slicks. Benzmac built that car. Do a search for photos, etc.
In addition, there were a very small number of W202 C55s made for special customers overseas, but I don't know if any authentic ones have made it stateside. |

It's a one off C55
Hey guys,
I've seen this car for sale in a local website since I live in the Bay area too . Anyhow, it's a real 5.5L engine in there. It's not a C220 but it does have some beef under that hood. Here's the ad for it. http://www.craigslist.org/pen/car/50692199.html So that settles it. Still, I wouldn't pay that asking price for it since I never liked the interior of the W202's. |
Although C55's for w202 were produced, it is my understanding that they never made it stateside because they failed to meet emissions and I believe crash safety specifications here as well.
Nevertheless, I am positive that some people in the states retrofitted the e55 w210 engine into the c43 vehicle. RENNtech had at least one of these. I almost bought it. The most likely scenario is that it is a c43 rebadged to keep up with the times, but there is that outside chance that they did the engine swap. I think there is virtually zero chance that it was a euro c55 unless they got major permission from the EPA and USDOT a la Porsche 959. I hope this helps. This is why they had to put the w209 clk front end on the w203 c55, to meet us and most likely eu4 crash standards. |
