Opinions/Help needed for future c55
Hello,
I have a few questions regarding the 2005 or 2006 c55. I already own a c230 w202 chassis and now its time to upgrade. I have a list of questions that I need to be answered to finalize my decision.
1. What type of aftermarket body kits (front bumper mainly) are available for the c55? Will any kit fit that fits on the c32 fit the 55?
2. In the navigation unit, are you able to watch television and dvd/dvd-r even with proper equipment? Or not a possibility?
3. Factory illuminated door sills, Are they front and back or just front? And if only front, will adding aftermarket door sills in the back look different than the front?
4. Are you able to add the rear heated seats as an option?
5. What type of bulbs do they use in their headlights and foglights? (both xenon). Company and Temp.
6. How much slower if not faster really is the c55 compared to an m3? I know that there's a lot of stuff that goes to it, but from stop light to stop light and a 70 mph roll who would be more victorious?
-I welcome all c55 owner's opinion's.

2005 Brilliant Silver C55
As far as your questions are concerned I can add a little help:
1) Don't know
2) Go to MB USA website or ask your MB dealer
3) Go to MB USA website or ask your MB dealer, don't know
4) Go to MB USA website or ask your MB dealer
5) Ask your MB dealer
6) I sold a 2004 E46 M3 to buy the C55. From stoplight to stoplight it would be the driver because the cars are almost identical in 0-60 or 0-80 times. From 70 mph on up it would be the C55.
Hope that helps,

1.Kits for the C32 should not fit unless they would fit the CLK55 too. As you might know, the front end of the C55 is off of the CLK55 rather than the w203 c-class. I believe brabus, renntech, kleemann, carlsson and others all offer front bumpers and body kits along with lorinser. You know...the usual.
2. There is no chance for watching TV or DVD on the USA version of the comand unit, but I am told there is promise for replacing the USA version with the Euro Version. You cannot listen to DVD music either.
3. There are no factory illuminated door sills in the US just AMG engraved door plates.
4. You cannot add rear heated seats.
5. Mercedes would never release company sources and temperatures of their lighting, but the mains are bi-xenon and the fogs are halogen.
6. This was covered adequately. However, if you upgrade your rubber, I am certain there is another two-three tenths to sixty to be had, but a 245 PZero Rosso tire just isn't going to cut it with this car. LSD's are available and I believe a similar or slightly better result could be achieved.
