New Owner Questions

So I'm the new proud owner of a silver '99 C43.

I've had my new baby for about 3 weeks now, and am starting to work on fixing a few things with the car.

Hoping that the fine folks on here could help me out in a few regards. :-)

1. I want to lower the car a bit (just a bit), and have heard that the European stock springs were a bit lower. Anyone have a source for these?

2. What is the best source for the OEM Avantegarde grill? If I find this, is it a direct (no modification) bolt-in?

3. My previous ride was a Land Cruiser, and I found it easy to get a scanned Factory Service Manual from the forums. I'm a big do it myselfer. :-) What's the best way to get a FMS for the '99 C43? Do these exist as PDF's?

Thanks in advance for any help...

i see you are a new member, i'd suggest you try using the search feature, i'd suggest you to get the eibach springs, i belive its only a inch it drops it.

Thanks for the reply.

I've been using the search and browsing a lot of what this forum and Benzworld has to offer.

One of the main problems is that much of the relevant info is outdated, since most of the interest in these cars was back around the earlier part of the 2000s.

Thanks for any info...

:-)

I bought the WIS DVD from a guy on eBay. [Workstation Information System] It provides you things like this:

Re grill... Check this thread:

and this:

A few places are listed. Most common is Bekkers, then Performance Products.

If you're one who likes to DYI, you might like this thread... (dunno why Renn didn't make it a sticky)

Here's a thread where people have listed what they've done to their car. It might give you some ideas.
