C36 or C43?
Hello I'm new here.
I'm in the process of searching for a C36 or a C43, can someone tell me which year of both cars should I get and were there any major recalls on these 2 models? And what should I particularly check when I'm purchasing the vehicle?

What do you guys think about this car? It's in Canadian currency so it's around $17500USD.
Thanks
Jeff

I hope youre a mother of 2 or a grandmother, because I can only picture someone of that type in there. I say neither model and take a look at a 2001 330i for the same price with a more sporty look.

The 330i is weak. The AMG will smoke it every which way.
For the C36 I would go for the 97 b/c it has 5 speeds versus the 4speeds for the 95 and 96. Their major problem was cheap insulation on the wiring harness which has caused failures. Any year for the C43 is good. The 2000 is rarer whichs ends up making them more expensive and has some improvement with the tranny (can't remember exactly what it is). Can't go wrong with either. Major consideration is what is available where you are looking and find a clean one.

330s are a dime a dozen and they don't have even close to the amount of torque or hp that a C36 or C43 has. They are nice cars, but don't stack up to an AMG. Heck even an M3 doesn't stack up for HP & TQ unless its an E46 and only in HP at about 7500 rpm.

To teh original poster: The C36 and C43 are entirely different beasts. Drive the C43, then PM me, and I'll take you out in my C36 (I'm in T.O. as well). You'll quickly see the differences.
