Anyone have a supercharged C43 ????

Anyone have a supercharged c43? I am interested in supercharging my C43 but would like to hear from someone who has driven one. What supercharger they used, what gas mileage they got, how loud was it, what kind of performance did it give, etc......

suicidal4life 05-07-2010 07:30 PM

nitrogenbalance did, and silence does. Search their posts.

silence 05-07-2010 09:05 PM

yes, many other tweaks too

PJmak 05-07-2010 09:28 PM

Id do a 5.4L swap instead

yeah I thought about that but I want to be as stock as possible. 5.4L would require several other mods (ecu, motor mounts,etc.....)

silence 05-07-2010 10:22 PM

the swap will keep it far stocker than the supercharger- you don't need an ecu or motor mounts or really anything else...

would I do the supercharger again over the swap? yes. It has pros and cons though certainly. I managed to do mine reasonably cheaply and I like the looks on peoples faces when I pop the hood... the 5.4 no one would know, which also has benefits.

here's the list you pm'd about-

hps gen I kit plus... (in no particular or logical order and maybe not complete)

split second maf scaling
pierburg fuel pump upgrade
fuel line upgrade
air-water intercooler (reworked sc piping, cheap core from frozenboost, terminator mustang pump and heat exchanger)
a big hammer
reworked air intake with aem dry flow filter
polished upper intake (hopefully improved flow- others have seen some from doing it)
alcohol injection systems methanol injection (simple 1 stage only on at 4.0 psi and up)
fuel pressure, air temperature, boost pressure, voltage gauges (my car also has 4000 RMS of stereo equipment)
other stuff I'm not thinking of right now

I have no dynos for most recent round of modifications running properly. I also have not tracked or raced the car. It has a ton of power and is extremely fast once it's rolling (traction is a ridiculous challenge). To me it is still a "slow"/"cruising" car vs. something that I would actually race or really worry about the 1/4 mile time with. It WILL certainly surprise the hell out of most late model fast cars at highway speeds.

silence 05-08-2010 01:52 AM

there has been a ton of cosmetic stuff done since I've posted a picture under my hood- still isn't done. Been too busy with other stuff, will have pictures when it's all done again.

amgmaster4343 12-30-2010 04:43 PM

Yep, I do... it eats M3 and C63 if they are stock.

Again post pics....

I wouldn't worry too much about gas mileage if you are putting a blower on your car. Yeah there are ways to mitigate the damage, but the whole purpose of forced induction is to burn more fuel :)

amgmaster4343 12-30-2010 10:49 PM

Sorry about the text boxes, but people always steal my pics, it's one of the reason I don't like putting pics up.

AMGMASTER4343 that looks so phat! nice car. what power you running with that hps genII??? also what other mods you done there?

amgmaster4343 12-30-2010 11:17 PM

I am putting out 436 HP to the rear wheels which I was told is about 516 HP 503 TQ at the crank. Mods: SC GEN II 2.5 pulley (9psi), Kleemann headers, ECU software, Kleemann camshafts, no cats, racing fuel injectors, evosport 8mm wires, 3” intake pipes, evosport throttle body. SL55 AMG wheels, cross drilled rotors, H&R springs and bilstein shocks I am sure I’m missing something, again I had all the tune done almost 5 years ago. Not to sound like a jerk but I like the car but I’m tired of it. I guess that happens with any car though.

have you encountered any problems since putting on the supercharger?

503C43 ////AMG 12-31-2010 12:29 AM

WOW.... Looks good :y Thanks for the pics and the write up

Jasssc 12-31-2010 12:57 AM

Wow!! That's amazing!
Do you mind sharing the cost of that setup?

amg801 12-31-2010 02:03 AM

AMGMASTER4343 thats a very sweet set up by the sounds of things, it would go like a rocket would love to see more pics or vids sorry to hassel you but its a very clean ride

amgmaster4343 12-31-2010 03:24 PM

SVT Ricco, the only problems I had were minor. I had to upgrade the spark plug wires to evosport 8mm and upgrade intercooler to code 3 E55 intercooler and upgrade to a bosch high performance fuel pump. You have to do this or you will get heat soaked. Also you have to remember this car only has 50k miles on it and it was SC at 41K miles. My friend SC a c43 with 93K miles on it and blew a pistion ring, so if your gonna do a set up like this I would only do it with low miles. If your looking just for a little more power I would do a 1st GEN set up because it is only 4 psi. Also HPS and Kleemann SC are almost the same becasue magnuson builds both of them. I know HPS has bad review, but that was becasue back in the day they were not use software. Plus most people don't understand, to SC a AMG is very expensive because the SC is super over priced plus all the extra parts you need to upgrade. So when this motor is shot, I was gonna put a w211 E55 motor in but I think now I would rebuild with custom internals and build the engine for the SC, but I think I will get a CLK BS before that since I only drive the car 2K miles a year, it's gonna be a while before the engine is shot.

amgmaster4343 12-31-2010 03:27 PM

By the way thanks for thanks for the compliments guys.

This last pics is about 4 to 5 years old now. The aluminum on the block is now polished not oxidize like it is in the pic. plus there is no SC belt on because the car was being worked on at the time.

Jasssc 12-31-2010 05:21 PM

Man that's nice.
How does it sound?

amgmaster4343 12-31-2010 06:06 PM
